Yeah, same
I saw a topic on forum some time ago with a lot of people having same issue, so I thought it will be patched soon, I was wrong :frowning:

I was thinking the same… The sound delay is still there and i have no idea what causes it…

I have the same problem, game freezes from time to time for about 5-7 seconds, huge sound delay…
Before the pre-patch I had no problems at all.
I’ve deleted WTF and Cache folders but the problems are still here.
Game is unplayable like this.

Exactly the same issue here, also checked the file integrity twice. First time it downloaded 100ish MBs to replace and 2nd time it did 300ish MB to repair… wth

Also been having this issue since 2 weeks.

Everything works fine with sound disabled.
But once I turn sound on, the sound will lag for a bit. Then a big spike happens when all the sound catches up.

I can confirm that, experiencing the exact same issue :frowning: all windows updates are installed and drivers are current version.

Same issue, lagspikes can happen for 5s to near minute. Sometimes sounds just dissapear and reaper 30s late of more.

I have the same issue as all of u. I first thought its a problem with the graphic settings and i tried like everything to fix the game freeze. After some searching i found this theard here and then realised that maybe my only “issue” is also just coming from the sound. I disabled the sound and now i dont have any issues nomore. Thx to you guys i now can atleast play again without any freezes. I let my comment here so i get updated if they fix something.

Having same issue with sound. Setup: Sennheiser HD 650 + Marantz HD-DAC1.

same issue here. Game runs perfectly without sound, but keeps freezing and suttering with sound. Issue exists since 9.0

I have the same problem. After logging in all seems fine but after 3-4 minutes sound begin to delay greatly. For Example, I finish 2 quest, and i suddenly hear dialog speech form 5 minutes ago, all in once. Or I hear sound of my character mounting from 5 minutes ago.
I am also getting freezes but those are rare. Line every 40 minutes…

Hi there,

This would most commonly be a symptom of the issue described in this thread, where you can find a workaround as well:

The cause of it is atlas loot addon ! I have disabled it for long time now and game runs without any issues ! After last patch,my left side of the screen didn’t worked and i was confused… I started to read about issues and i found some one on reddit saying that atlast loot is causing game freeze, sound and many other issues… I never though that addon can make such an issues in game !

bump same problem. This is not caused by some background download.

Yup same thing here, I’m still leveling in new zones so idk if it’s something related to new zones or just in general. Sometimes I can hear quest voice lines like minutes later  kinda annoying to say the least, also combat sounds can get crazy delayed and then play all at once.

Same issue here… never had this in previous expansions this is the first one. And WoW is the only game I’m having sound issues with at the moment. So it’s not hardware thing (I have a very recent PC).

As it has been mentioned previously by others there is a loss of sound effects one by one until most of it is gone and only the music is left on. Also there is a freeze-up every now and then, that makes some sounds turn off while others on. And then there is the delayed sound, like boss conversations and other things playing 1-2 minutes after the boss dies for example.

I really hope this gets fixed soon. Until then I will play without sound.

So I tried uninstalling and reinstalling again, and somehow it seems to have worked! Sounds are once more being heard at the proper times. If anyone does the same remember to copy your Interface and WTF folders somewhere before uninstalling, after reinstalling you can copy them back again. They store things like your ui etc.

Thanks for the suggestion but it doesn’t sound like a proper way to fix things, especially with the download size of WoW. Hopefully it will be fixed soon with a patch.
