Sound effects in DF

I know everyone is busy with the new builds and talents coming in DF and its great to have this system overhaul.

However, in the legion client when most animations VFX and sound effects were changed alot of things just became worse compared to what they used to be.

To list some things:

Auto attack sounds. Terrible

Running animation of certain races. Too jumpy and annoying.

All rogue sounds. Sounds weak and unimpactful.

Warrior sounds and animations. Playing warrior in classic reminded me how satisfying this class used to be. Whirlwind, bladestorm and raging blow all are terrible.

Frost mage. No comment, everything is ruined.

Demonology warlock. Completely ruined compared to its MOP-WOD version.

2h animations on female orc. I don’t play many other races so I can’t comment much. The 2h special attack animation used to be an amazing spin attack. However that was changed and it looks bad.

Retribution Paladin. Divine storm used to be much better. Blade of justice is terrible. Wotlk ret had just the perfect feeling. I do like the current final verdict animation though.

As I said i know devs are busy building the core talents system etc, but I haven’t heard anything as far as the gameplay itself and the visuals are involved. Having satisfying animations and sounds is essential for an rpg game’s success.

I really don’t like how they butchered feral’s sounds. I enjoy the spec far less ever since and miss the roars greatly. It sounded awesome in my headphones, now I only hear paper shredding.

There are a few other things I wouldn’t mind tweaked but they’re no deal breaker for me.

This is definitely something I hope they address at some point…
Since Legion any one who pays attention to such things simply hasn’t been a priority, high end M+/raiders probably don’t care much for the sounds.

…But as an audio nerd myself Wow’s sounds really frustrate me, they all sound weak and thin, and none of the games music is mixed with those sounds in mind - so unless you intentionally turn your gameplay sounds down there’s no way in hell you’re going to hear much of the music in an instance, and to me the music in an instance is what sets the atmosphere, without good and powerful music in an instance the whole experience crumbles.

They need better sound effects for gameplay and they need music that is designed with those sounds in mind.
I think most character models and animations need updating tbh, idk how they make them but almost none of the gear in the game actually looks designed for any character model, save for the heritage sets.
