I have a new laptop and I have some issues with sounds and music. Every time I plug in/out the headset the WoW music stops and refreshes (or becomes silent) instead of just continuing. Why? It seems like it’s refreshing the music files instead of playing still what’s supposed to play. For instance - I hear a Stormwind theme music, I plug in or out the headset and the sound stops for a second and then refreshes and I either hear the theme from the start again or I hear some other game music. When I cast a teleport/portal I hear the spell casting sound. When I plug in or out my headphones the sound disappears and I hear the silent casting. This is weird…
This generally happens because your primary sound device is changing, causing the game’s audio system to basically restart. While it’s certainly an annoyance, the alternative would be having to restart the game completely to re-initialise the audio system

I never had such problems with my previous laptops (or maybe I never paid noticed to this but I’m pretty sure the music never reseted before).
How can I restart the game and re-initialise the audio system to fix this?
BTW: I’m not sure if I remember it well, but in the past I had the same volume sound for both laptop speakers and headphones. Now, each “device” has set different volume (and they have separate volume settings when I left click on the volume icon on the task bar) . For example - if I have 30% volume at both and I increase to 40% while using speakers, the headset after plugging in will still have 30%. In the past it would increase to 40% just like the speakers. Maybe this will be a hint?
