Spec stat priority is an obstacle

so it comes, I play a DPS and each spec has a different stat priority. Why are we forced to play just one spec? Blizzard pls, make stat on gear somehow swappable, I don’t mind playing just one, but what if I change my mind? I think we should be allowed to swap stats on gear, we already upgraded it, and we can craft, or re-craft with different stats. I think it would not hurt the game if there is another NPC that allows to swap stats. I believe it would also open more content for people focusing on just one part of the game, like a single target or AoE spec specific. Thank you

Are you seriously suggesting that having the non-optimal secondary stats on your equipment will make you underperform to the point of being unviable?

This is what tier lists and BiS lists do to people.

Sadly true.

The number of people leaving Ara Ara heroic dungeons after first boss, because they were fishing for that one trinket, was a fine example.

People are going mad over best in slot, thinking that they’ll be insta-kicked from groups if they don’t have full BiS in the first week of the season.

Admittedly WoW players have created a very unhealthy decline+kick culture, but the solution, as ever, is just play with people you know, have played with before, and will play with again. Not treating people like disposable commodities becomes reciprocal, and it’s totally fine not to show up with the BiS trinket and you realise nobody else actually got it either - and it turns out you can still do the dungeon :dracthyr_lulmao:

The differences between different secondary stat configurations typically amounts to a few percentage points (assuming optimal play). Nothing that’s going to stop you swapping to an off spec for a +5 or even a +10.

True… worst of all this is that there is a paragraph explaining WHY, with disclaimers and numbers.

People still dont read that either.

This. Doesn’t really concern 99% of playerbase.

This has zero effect on you. "Oh no, I can’t get into a wing of lfr because my stats aren’t optimised.

then you’ll play the other spec.

people under 90th percentile will experience almost zero difference between having 70% haste and 30% mastery vs 60% mastery and 40% haste. their biggest DPS losses by far will be in bad cooldown usage for the fight and rotational mistakes that set them back 1 or 2 or 3 GCDs regularly.

it literally doesn’t matter at all until you’re very good at the game and even then it only matters if you’re specifically parsing or pushing the highest end of keys. for normal and heroic raids? doesn’t matter. 2-10 keys? doesn’t matter. mythic raiding 3 months into the season? doesn’t matter. delves? doesn’t matter.

I miss reforging, not gonna lie

Reforging makes no sense with hit rating and expertise removed from the game. You don’t need perfect gear.

May not concern 99% of players, but 99% players like to act as if they are the 1%.
