Hello
I’ve been having a problem for a while now where I disconnect 9/10 in a very specific situation. For example in the Darkshore warfront I will pretty much always disconnect during the second to last section where you have to help destroy the 4 glaive throwers. In the Arathi warfront I will disconnect while fighting the last boss. If I’m doing Firelands I will disconnect just after looting Rag and in ICC I will disconnect during the Lich King’s starting speech if and only if I’ve done a full clear. The most annoying example being automatic “cutscenes”, such as when Lilian blows up the guards in the quest The Bridgeport Ride.
As you can see it’s not really random so would appear to me to be more of bug rather than an internet issue but it comes with the error code WOW51900319. All tracerts etc come back fine and I’m left scratching my head as it’s only WoW that’s running into any issue with regards to a connection problem. The disconnect is also very sudden, no lag or ms build up, it reminds me of the glider disconnects that plagued engineers for the longest time.
Is anyone else having a similar problem that has plagued them for quite a while?
Good morning Sihana,
I’d suggest you go through these general steps here first.
Kind regards
What’s your opinion?
I’ve done those steps multiple times. The issue happened on my old hardware and now occurs again on brand new hardware, everything was replaced. Screen freezes and disconnected from server. Tried it with zero addons and it makes no difference either. In fact I do get issues with Diablo 3 too, but not with Overwatch nor HoTS. The only common denominator is Blizzard and my ISP, but in regards to my ISP no other service has an issue.
I also feel it’s important to add that I get no lag, ping is fine. All that happens is suddenly the screen freezes and I disconnect. I can immediately reconnect and be back in the game within 30 seconds. No other services running at the time is effected either.
Edit*
I’ve done some more testing with this today, using WinMTR specially to check for packet loss. I do lose 1-2 packets per hop after leaving London on my WinMTR tests. When doing testing using a VPN I have no loss at all. In terms of browsing there is obviously no issue with a few packets here and there but with gaming could that be the issue? I think I’ve misunderstood just how impactful losing a few packets could be.
I haven’t been able to test this in game yet as I’m unsure if we’re allowed to use a VPN while playing and don’t want to risk my account by suddenly appearing to log in from France. If this is the issue then I figure I’ll have my work cut out with my ISP.
