I’m trying to use a macro for my Spiritbloom on Evoker but whenever I use the macro I get an error saying “Spell Not Learned” even though it is. I can use the spell if I just cast it using the normal button but with the macro I keep getting this error. The macro I’m using is below (this macro works fine for all my other Evoker spells, just not Spiritbloom for some reason):
Try disabling Hold to cast settings maybe. These new empowered spells don’t work well in macros if at all. Make sure you’re using default blizz action bars too.
I am pretty sure this is a bug related to the macro. The first time it happened I was in lfg sepulchre raid: when inside the raid I switched my spec from dps to healer and once the fight started i noticed I was not able to cast it from macro, but was able to cast it from the button without macro.
Then I logged out. When I logged back in I noticed the macro was working fine. Got called for another lfg raid. When inside I noticed I had the same problem as written above. It may be ralted to certain instances, but cannot confirm.
I also tried switching from press and tap to hold and back but it did not change.
Yup I’m having the same problem. THe macro was working perfectly in prepatch however it now seems to be broken, all my other mouseover macro’s continue to work but Spiritbloom has broken.
Funky story… 10h ago the Macro still worked (i was doing the first DF 5man dungeon). So somehow in the last 10h blizz did something that borked the Channel Spells interaction with Macros.
After you switch to Preservation log out and back in. Then the Macros work again. It will break once you change specs so you gotta do it again if you want to heal and use your channeled skill Macros.
this bug seems to be caused by not having the Font of Magic talent specced in preservation tree. spells with different empower levels (meaning spiritbloom with 3 and spiritbloom with 4) likely have different IDs and the macro tries to cast the one with 4 regardless of having/not having Font of Magic specced.
easy fix would be to just let us put spell IDs in macros. in the meantime, i just specced Font of Magic despite not really wanting to and everything works fine.
I’m not sure if this works for others and it keeps working, but for me it seems fixed if I unlearn the Font of Magic talent in the Devastation spec. Yes that’s right, in the spec that’s inactive when you’re in Preservation.
When I unlearned Font of Magic “in Devastation spec”, the mouseover Spiritbloom seems to work with either Font of Magic learned or unlearned in Preservation.
Maybe it has to do with that both specs’ Font of Magic have the same Spell ID, and having a talent with that ID enabled in one spec is still affecting it.
I don’t care as much about my dps spec, as I only use it for outdoor content, so I’ll try this out for now.
Got same problem for Sigil of Flame macro in Vengeance spec. In Havoc works every time, like a charm.
Whenever I switch to tanking spec, it stops, even tho SoF is 1st (!) talent point in the spec and you literally can’t not know it.
Blizzard, as a small indie company we know it for years for, still didn’t do a thing about it but hey, at least we are getting more x-mogs soon, useless tuning of characters that definitely didn’t need it, no tuning for characters and spec that do
