I’m trying to get the visuals for spell procs to work like Hot streak procs ect and this used to be in original Cataclysm this was when this got introduced but I cant find the option in game anywhere.
I’ve tried solving it with WeakAuras and other addons and nothing seems to work!
The visuals themselves appear to be missing even when downloading an addon pack that specifically had the visual effect to get them to work in WeakAuras they still dont show in game!
Am I just missing an in game setting or is something missing / bugged / broken?
If anyone has a good addon that actually works and shows the procs also willing to try that! However I’d REALLY prefer the in-game ones if possible!
Oh I see, well you’ve posted in the Hunter forum and didn’t say you were on Classic specifically, just that you know the effects were added in Cata, so I assumed you were on retail.
Might have better luck posting on the Cata Classic forum. I would just use TellMeWhen for this kind of thing if they haven’t been included in Cata Classic though, personally. Still takes a bit to figure out how to use it properly but it’s less complicated than WeakAuras.
You’d just create an icon that shows when you get whatever the buff is on yourself that would normally make the default spell alert appear.
Totally forgot about when the spell alert based on what players used with PowerAuras back then was added as core function of the game.
Apparently, it was introduced in CATA, yet for some reason, the spell alert function is missing in CATA Classic, instead we have only glowing border around the ability icon on the action bar, which is quite useless if you have the ability in macro with alt modifier.
Adding SET displaySpellActivationOverlays "1" to config does nothing, there is however addon that added this function to WotLK and Classic Era, and thus also restore this in CATA.
Simple WeakAura to show some graphical notification on screen when there is specific buff/aura present or missing does work for me though, and I’m still using that for missing Aspect of the Hawk/Fox on my hunter, Slam! proc and missing Shout on my warrior, or Sacred Duty proc for my prot. paladin, since that was never covered with spell alert…
