SpellQueueWindow and Mages

Hey guys,

What is your SpellQueueWindow set to and why? I have seen many people state different things regarding this setting and I’m wondering what your view is on it.

Enables lag tolerance and controls how much of a lag tolerance is given when you wish to queue abilities up.

Examples of settings people mention:

  • Default (400) is best setting
  • Set it to 0
  • Set it lower 150-200 if you’re a button masher and higher if you click once
  • Find out your average latency and set it to that number
  • Find out your average latency and add 100-150 to it

Just Google or look on the WoW forums for SpellQueueWindow and you will find countless of sources claiming different and even opposing things, the ones mentioned above are the most common one’s.

Obviously if you don’t know what you’re doing you shouldn’t mess with default settings, but anything that could benefit your spec or playstyle would be worth a try.

This is called Lag Tolerance if you’re using AdvancedInterfaceOptions

400 is way, way, wayyyy too high, makes the game a laggy piece of junk.

When it was in the ingame options blizz themselves had in it’s explanation that you should set it to whatever your normal ping is, I’ve no idea why the default is 400 it’s just absurd.

I have mine at 115. Had it at 200 until I started adjusting it during nighthold when double ice lancing was a big thing, and eventually landed at 115. My ping tends to be around 25-35, if that matters.

Im using like 800 on my frost mage cuz 70% of the spec is just one filler spell, so if im doing easier content i just don’t have to spam 1 button for casts of Frostbolt, instead clicking it before Frostbolt finishes casting and it’s automaticaly casting new one with no effort
