Spells explanation?

Do we really have to test everything self?
Cannot it simply say how much chance it has?
‘‘Your abilities have chance to deal bonus shadow damage’’
Ok cool, but how much chance?

I hate this “chance to bla bla” aswell…

Like god damn, just tell us the chance instead of having to blind-pick or test forever.

maybe the chance is RNG 5Head and when you test it you will just obtain the cumulative average 55Head

RNG means there is some % of chance to -

  • Proc
  • Loot something
  • Whatever

So there is some algorythm which point this %.

Yes, I’m saying that maybe the proc chance itself is a range, for example 10-30% and that the instantaneous value can be any % in that range, but idk really I’m just speculating.
Blizzard have had 17 years to play around with these numbers

Yeah thats doesnt have kinda sense. That what you say means you have 5% chance to have 10% chance xD
But anyway, u made me smile  Thank for that.

Most of these “chance on hit” spells and effects are based on procs per minute. Meaning the chance of getting a proc dynamically updates based on how long it’s been since your last proc.

So if Blizzard decided to show the proc chance, the tooltip would practically change everytime you checked and would probably be even more confusing than just saying you have a “chance”.

Doesnt mean they cant specify the number of procs per minute…

Pretty sure there’s an add-on that expands info in tooltip of such things to show the proc rate per minute.

They randomly do this sometimes on trinkets. Or at least used to. It was so much better.

I think they’re just overly concerned that showing numbers confuses your average joe player. Simple English is fool proof.

I believe some trinkets do show the procs per minute. Not sure if that’s an addon I have though.

yeah and thats a retarded reason

thats why nowadays you have to install an addon to see your actual 2ndary stat %s in a freaking MMO.

I agree but it’s best to assume your consumer is, well, stupid.
It would be nice to have like an alt + hover built in to the game for expanded tooltips though.

Pretty sure tahts how it used to be but they removed it.
