I was playing a Korrak’s Revenge AV match on my new Highmountain Tauren restoration shaman. I was healing people left, right and centre, thinking I was doing well for my team.
All of a sudden a goblin hunter on my team does /spit on me. I ignored it and played on though, but was left annoyed. It left me wondering what his jig was.
Similarly, in Classic, I joined a Warsong Gulch match late, and I spawned in the middle of a warlock (same team) killing an enemy player in the flag room. I engaged the enemy player as he was dying, and helped the warlock kill him, as we both were getting honour anyway, being on same team. Next thing, the warlock says “You stole my kill” and then proceeds to do /spit on me.
Has anyone ever been /spit on by the same faction? Ever used it yourself? Do you think /spit is a useful emote to use? Ever left wondering why someone /spit on you or was it useful to /spit on someone of the same faction?
I personally think it’s a rather distasteful emote to use on someone, especially on the same faction or even the opposite faction at that.
I get World of Warcraft is all about – well war – and opposite factions, but having these emotes in a game breeds toxicity I feel.
Should /spit be used on same faction or not? Should the emote be even in the game? What’s your feeling about it?
It conveys feelings much better than typed words do.
Also if you type a lot, you use up more electricity in the process as compared to /spit. So /spit is environmentally friendly too.
I can’t help with the first situation.
But I understand the second one.
In League of Legends if you KS the other player you get the gold for the kill, not him.
I supose in Classic the other player didn’t got the credit for it, that’s why he got annoyed.
I onlly had /laughed at by another warrior for doing so poorly on my warrior in vanilla period in WSG 30-39.
If people would not use /spit they would probably use another emote as the poster above me stated: /fart.
We don’t have /spit in League of Legends so people say:
“I hope you die in RL”
Got told that by a team mate after I did something wrong, which I can’t recall what it was since i was concentrating on fighting the enemy.
I think you have to ignore or just laugh at people when they /spit at you regardless of whether they are on your faction or not. Particularly in PvP people have all sorts of emotes baked into their abilities or ready to use when you drop dead.
Never been /spit on or at least never that I’ve noticed or remembered.
I was once called a female dog for getting to an anchor weed spawn before someone else though, I laughed about that for a long time simply because I only had rank 1 so looted two off it which seems even worse for the player who missed out and was so angry at being there two seconds behind me.
I honestly can’t understand why people allow something as silly as /spit to bother them so much, it’s just angry player being angry in an immature way and has no real effect on you or your life. It’s not even toxic (such an overused phrase btw) you will never see them again and it hasn’t affected your game in any way.
There are so much more important issues in the world to be bothered about than an in game emote.
Spit is good you should open your mouth .
It’s also essential for good oral health. Saliva washes food away from your teeth and gums, which helps to prevent cavities and other oral infections such as strep throat
wow. welcome to the internet. if /spit offends you, then you can’t have played wow for long. ppl regularly wish death and disease on others. i wouldnt care too much if i were u. i personally love when someone gets ultratriggered by me steamrolling them in bgs multiple times and they start /spit like crazy xD.
you can counter with /pick, its kind of funny tbh ngl.
I -think- you’ll find that is not a 2019 thing, but rather more an -ancestral- thing, that has existed since human interaction…I mean some of our biggest legends, and in some cases, Religions massively feature it, So uh…OK Zoomer.
To be honest…/spit is just a tool for the mentally deficient who cannot articulate themselves in any other fashion, and are too cowardly to type words to get across their disdain for a set of pixels in a game.
I mean there are a -lot- of better ways of expressing one’s ire at a situation/person, but /spit just tends to make me want to pat them on the head and go “You tried…so tell me, what do you want to be when you grow up?”
Its just lazy as all hell. Typical Echo Boomer/Zoomer mentality…
