Splitting Ulduar

Ulduar takes too long. Due to stuff in my life, I can’t spend 3-4 hours of the evening in a raid so I’ve been playing while working from home - that was brilliant with p1 pugs, but it doesn’t work at all with ulduar anymore. I bet there are many people like me.

So, my suggestion would be to split the ulduar lockouts into 2-3 instances. This wouldn’t take anything away from evening players who wanna do it in one go, but it would allow the rest of us puggers to actually play it too.

Just find a guild who shares your PoV, but something tells me thats gonna be hard.

Changing a big raid just to fit YOUR life-situation is kinda meh.

Obviously it is, but like I said, I bet there are more people like me that have been churned out of raiding because of this

Just one question. Why do you pay monthly for a game if you can’t spend 3 hours a week? Unless the group is really bad, a lot of pugs finish in about 2h30m.

And what hinders you from joining a pug that clears it in 2 hours?

Great, so don’t.

Yeah sure Blizzard are gonna invest money to modify a legacy raid just for your convenience.

just the way the cookie crumbles

Oh, you mean LFR fans and those pro splitting classic dungeons into wings via RDF? They find their reasons to quit early in the patch cycle regardless of instance/raid length. Don’t worry, old Blizzard heard cries of session based games dwellers in MMORPG and made ToC/ToGC on a small arena, without any traveling and trash fights. Finally (wipeless 10pol normal) raid could be done in less that an hour with time left to waste on something else.

Find a guild that clears in under 2h.

Well, just hypothetically, allowing us to go Vezaxx and Yogg with any number of keepers freed (possibly even 0), would give us needed flexibility in raid time management.

i really dislike ulduar, its too big, too many bosses and too much trash, ToGC cant come soon enough

Hello, icecrown citadel.

Reading this thread takes too long. Due to my stuff in life I can’t spend 1-2 minutes reading your post, so could you refrain from posting next time?

Yeah, hopefully they are wise enough to know how to prioritize their leisure time and perhaps have realized that they simply dont have time to play WoW the way they want anymore. Or, alternatively, accepted it and only play as much as time allows them to play.

I feel you… the real problem is the following: if you raid with like-minded people that have more IRL responsibilities and less time to be sweaty online you will take longer to clear because of those people not being all that sweaty and super invested.
And a guild that clears it faster will not be very happy with your mindset…
Either u r not gonna enjoy the raid or the raid isn’t gonna enjoy you. My friends and I have been in ur situation

Maybe you need to change something in your life so you can spend 3 hours to finish a raid that you pay for? Or consider if this game really is something you should spend time on. You can’t ask them to change the game to fit your real life schedule, its ridiculous. I genuinely feel sorry for people who don’t have 3-4 hours free time during the week. BUT, I also think that the majority of people can prioritize IRL stuff to get those hours each week. You are the issue here, not the game.

That’s just complete nonsense… if you feel sorry for people that can’t play 3-4 hours nonstop once every week, then you just have no idea what real adulthood looks like. There are many people with this issue that still want to play WoW. I have a family with 2 kids that i actually try to spend time with, work at the hospital, run a private practice with several employees, try to exercise 3 times a week, etc… no way i could free up 4 hours EVERY week without interruptions. And yes, i stopped raiding mostly because of this… but there are many casual guilds that are cool with less attendance or split raiding. The issue with those guilds is that the raid itself is tiresome and takes forever (as mentioned above) therefore creating more problems again.

How is that any different to just doing for example 4 bosses. Then coming back another day within that week and clearing more bosses?

No need to overcomplicate it.

Also ulduar should not take 4 hours unless your progressing in hard modes or you are in a pug. Most guilds can clear in around 2 hours unless wiping on hardmodes.

If you can’t get 4 hours of free time each week I feel sorry for you. And I know many adults, including me who can spend 4 hours each week on gaming. Again, if you can’t get 4 hours of free time then don’t game. And lets get real, a decent group can clear it in 2-3 hours.

Classic wow is the most casual friendly game when it comes to time… You won’t get anywhere in other games spending 3-4 hours per week.
