It does, in real life, or in good written stories. Current wow story writing is awful. Hundred drunk reddit theories more interesting and deeper than what we have seen over last years. All that cliche in dialogs and action, all bad guys only because they are bad guys, all that poor motivation - all of these are garbage. The only one Defias Brotherhood storyline much more interesting with the story of VanCleef daughter than all what I have seen in bfa and shadowlands. The Tauraho memes still here, but nothing new became memed since…pandaria? It’s pretty obvious that all what we have now - it’s a poor play with a corpse which is scared to have a balls for something really powerful and interesting. Evil is Evil and that’s all, no deep meaning, no motivation, no painful loose of everything to be revenged in the future(oh ok, yes, RIP Varian & Ysera, that’s all). The Evil already won and it is inside of how the wow story is written right now.
An individuals perception of their own guilt has nothing to do with the moral dimension of their actions. Unless you believe that me, thinking murder is okay would make my killing of other individuals suddenly “not wrong” socially? Morality is determined by consensus, not individuality. If one talks of morals in a personal level, it’s not even morals being discussed any more, it’s simply conscience.
If Garrosh nothing wrong, he wouldn’t have been sent to Revendreth in the first place. You don’t get sent there for “being awesome”. You get sent there to slog through the atonement for crimes.
Garrosh failing to recognise his crimes simply means he’d be eventual maw fodder, not that he was actually a good boo, so yes, he was in the wrong place.
Why are people so against Anduin? What the hell… and why are people so against men who aren’t basically Rambo. I swear, Arnie and Sylvester Stallone permanently damaged the male identity. Now, unless you’re a bloodthirsty womanizer douche, you’re basically a femboy in the eyes of so many players.
Varian is not a good leader. He became a better leader through Anduin. Wanna know why Sylvanas didn’t care much for destroying the entire Alliance? Go back to MoP and watch the Siege of Orgrimmar ending cinematic. Pay attention to what Varian tells Sylvanas. Maybe threatening a faction like The Horde, expecting them to submit is not the sign of a good leader. When you threaten a nation, you cannot expect them to not obliterate you when they can. Sylvanas’ war was personal.
Varian was a high on power douche and it’s good that he died. It’s bad that he died a heroic death. He should’ve died in the gutter.
In order for you to have someone behaving as a saint you need others to behave in a evil manner.
You can’t make a ceasefire if there isn’t a war.
Try playing a faction described as a military organization and than seeing your leader more worried about what others are doing than your own people.
Of course the narrative as usual will go above and beyond to prove he was right.
If you hate Varian, than it’s good.
Horde hates Alliance, Alliance hates Horde.
If the developers stated that they believe the factions to be a integral part of the game than don’t go around describing one faction as victims and the other as cardboard villains.
What? No. That’s simply… not true. Anduin isn’t even a saint, his naivety is not portrayed as a positive trait. What are you on about? Anduin is merely the Thrall of The Alliance. What Anduin is realizing is that it takes 2 to war. The Alliance has just as much responsibility for starting the 4th war as does The Horde. Sure, Sylvanas was the aggressor, but the Alliance has taken literally zero steps to ensure some sort of peace between the faction. Same as The Horde. With or without Sylvanas, a 4th war was bound to happen, because of both factions’ politics.
In fact, Anduin’s politics are the only thing that can end the animosity between both factions. This is also true in real life politics as well. He is probably the only kinda alright political figure in the entirety of WoW’s lore.
You mentioned toxic masculinity and I don’t think you understand it. Toxic masculinity is not about how men act, but about cultural beliefs that make men miserable. There’s so many men around who believe they can’t find a girlfriend because their wrists are too skinny, chins too small, they can’t bench press their body weight, etc. Romanticizing alcoholism and self-destructive behavior, that type of stuff - and all of that results in men being more miserable. And maybe the self-inflicted beliefs that only serve to create your own misery should be done away with. That’s what all this is about.
Well actually they were forced to become that as they were trapped in a void trap but unlike garrosh they never wanted that. They were only trying to study it.
Thats a bit different, that like when after WWII America employed/saved the Naz… German scientist.
Garry simply - it is a theme it seems with the orcs - consumed something bad and evil, got infused by it, and went totally crazy. Okay, nobody could tell the difference, because he always was like that, but this time mutated in to something really nasty
The Light is pretty fascist, my dude. The void is chaotic and destructive, sure, but The Light isn’t free of sin. The Light forces people to convert to its ways, asserting its ways as the only right ones. But are they? Why would The Light be right? Does war end when The Light converts all, does suffering disappear? No. The Light tried to force Illidan to submit. The Light turned Yrel into an authoritarian warmonger fascist.
Allying with The Light or The Void is different sides of the same coin.
He was however not controlled. And Garrosh MERGED with an Old God. Yet he was still master of his senses. If the old god tried to control him then he absolutely failed. Given Y’Shaarjs nature from what we can gather we can also assume he was fine with Garrosh doing his thing as it did fit his own vision and as such didnt resist garrosh consuming him.
The Light however has proven since Legion that it is just as corrupte in its nature as the Void. However the Void believes in every path that could potentially exist and accepts every single one of them. The Light however believes in one path only and if you dont follow that path then you’re against it. Yrel and her army as well as X’era have demonstrated that they are despicable. The only being that seemed to be truly “pure” was A’dal.
X’era also proved that her “path” was flawed and not set in stone given Illidans resistance and killing her while refusing her “gift”. The Void although already had forseen this scenario amongst many others.
If i had to pick between the Light and the Void i would pick the Void all day every day. Prime reason why im still refusing of changing my equipped title.
Disagree.
In fact it’s clearly stated in “A Good War” that Saurfang disagreed with Sylvanas in waging conflict with the Alliance.
Sylvanas had to talk him out of it.
In fact the old Orc was proven right when she decided to burn the civilians at Teldrassil.
Fast forward to SL it seems she was serving the Jailer.
So any excuse she had to start another conflict it’s now removed.
Even so, there was no need to rush for another conflict.
In fact I believe the next expansion has conflict again: Light Crusade.
Don’t think so.
They need to instigate conflict all the time.
There will always be an excuse for another conflict.
Had they not villain batted Sylvanas so hard in BFA and perhaps people wouldn’t had reacted to her story so negativity in SL.
Btw it seems Anduin is gonna go missing and Turalyon is the one in charge of the Alliance.
It reminds me of Cataclysm.
Thrall was replaced by Garrosh.
So in order to create conflict you just need to remove Thrall or Anduin from the equation.
I understand, it’s a term used way too many times to criticize man on the internet.
Everything seems to be “Toxic masculinity”, according to female articles.
*Man behave as a gentleman and pays the bills.
Female article describes this as “Toxic masculinity”.
*Man shares the bill.
Female article states: there’s no more chivalry anymore.
*Man are tired of being classified as perverts for approaching women and start going their own way.
