Anyhow, most of Warcraft 3’s ‘‘good story’’ is immediately thrown in the bin in WoW when the Alliance/Horde are okay with having Warlocks/Shadow Priests/Forsaken ( for the Horde ) which go against every development they had in War3.
the twist here was that it was the most obvious answer instead of anything crazy you might’ve thought of

My personal guess: It’s not Sylvanas who goes through the Kerrigan-style redemption story but Azshara, after we liberate her from the clutches of N’Zoth.
The curse of Jaina and the overriding narrative of a strong female character who has all the consistancy of my enthusiasm for life.

After we save her life despite all of the awful things that she has done and the fact that she has earned any suffering she receives at N’Zoth’s tentacles, she will side with the unified Horde and Alliance against the evil that N’Zoth represents, wielding the secrets that he has granted her against him.

Is this bad writing?

Is this the sort of writing we can expect from Blizzard?

She could be doing it for self preservation and an opportunity to escape and rebuild on her own. Which would work… Poorly, but slightly less jarring.
