Honestly at that point I reckon the pieces were already in motion. Simply blame Wrathion, I don’t like him anyway. In fact, him getting punched is my favorite part of his entire story.
Not really. It was all Wrathion’s machinations. (and one rowdy bronze boy who wasn’t doing as he should by the dragonflight’s rules)

Wrathion was confronted by Anduin, who attempted to deter his friend from freeing the captured warchief. Proclaiming that as the last of the Black Dragonflight, the protection of Azeroth now falls to him, Wrathion knocked Anduin out and took his leave.

I take solace in knowing that if there’s an Alliance civil War Genn and Tyrande Vs the rest of the Alliance… We’ll at least handle it by ourselves rather than call upon the aid of the Horde to do it…
But that’s mere hope, for all I know Anduin might call upon his Best friend Baine to occupy Mount Hyjal.
