[SPOILERS] Patch 8.3 Thread (Visions of N'zoth)

Perhaps they’re just updating the Ebon Blade gear and Tabard, and add some features to the Mag’har and Pandaren(since the Vale gets updated?).

I’m going to assume it will be totally different things then what we hope.

Also if 1 Pandaren Death Knight is enough to unlock the class for the race; then we might aswell, indeed, open the floodgates and allow everyone to become everything :stuck_out_tongue:

Is Blizzard trying to make people forget they’re a pro-China anti-democratic company?

I am #Hype!

Except it is known that the Ebon Blade aren’t against raising anyone into undeath to serve their cause!

It’s looking more like there could be a new scenario/starting experience for these DKs since allied races are included

Terenas sanctioned how they were being ran for the record. He thought the camps should pay for themselves, so he sanctioned the gladiator slavery and it resulted in some of the most fricked up things under Blackmoore’s command.

The only one in the royal family who raised an issue with how it’s being ran was Arthas because he thought that raising Thrall to be a super tactician while at the same time torturing his people, separating the families and using the children as blackmail to force the parents to fight each other in the rings when they were too lethargic to do it otherwise was a massive mistake.

Don’t mistreat your prisoners in the most horrific ways you can think of and then raise one of them to be a great military leader with a deep seated hatred for you and an indepth insider knowledge of human military structure, tactics and logistics.

Honestly the whole Durnholde situation was a recipe for disaster.

First, Maiev’s statement (https://wow.gamepedia.com/In_Darkest_Night) says:

Maiev Shadowsong says: Legend says that long ago, Elune bestowed her fury upon our greatest warriors to secure Kalimdor.

Maiev Shadowsong says: In a sacred ritual, the strongest among them became her avatar–the Night Warrior. Our victory was swift.

Maiev Shadowsong says: None who have attempted the ritual since then have survived. Elune’s raw power tears them apart.

Already we have doubt in that she uses the term legend. Tales of the Night Warrior are not fact. The conflict with the Zandalari came long into the expansion, after outposts such as Eldre’thalas were already established through arcane might under Azshara. It’s also noted that it was the “devestating magics” of the NElves, not “warriors”, that fought the Zandalari back.

Futhermore, Azshara specifically didn’t care about the trolls. If they posed threat sufficient to warrant using the Night Warrior ritual, you’d think they’d be worth more of her attention. Instead she apparently got bored of the conflict and let struck an accord to leave each other alone.

For these reasons I think it fair to say that any use of the Night Warrior if factual at all in the Kaldorei Empire’s expansion came prior to Azshara becoming ruler, and thus they didn’t engage with the Zandalari at all.

Then when Thrall died in the AU Blackmoore sobered up, rallied an army, killed Doomhammer and then took over Lordaeron.

Didn’t he use Thrall as his general to conquer Lordaeron?

Might’ve been a different one? I was referring to this guy:
https://wow.gamepedia.com/Aedelas_Blackmoore_(alternate_universe)

Ah, right. The one with Warlord Thrall is the third timeline Kairoz digs into in War Crimes where Thrall didn’t die and never escaped either, so Aedelas used him to conquer Lordaeron.

With Thrall coordinating the orcs, there was even less resistance than during the Second War and Lordaeron fell in no time.

Okay listen here;

I didn’t know that Terenas was even aware of the Slavery ring, last time I read up upon it; Terenas was more like, yea they should pay themselves(after he allowed the Alliance of Lordaeron to fall apart since neither Quel’thalas, nor Stromgarde, nor Gilneas felt like paying for alien invaders). But I always had the thought/feeling with him it should’ve been in the way of “forcing” them to tailor/leatherwork/mine or something. Which really is still slavery but atleast not as bad as what you just described…

Point is; I didn’t know Arthas was the only objecting and Terenas was even aware of the illegal slavery ring :I Suppose I learned something new about the Evil Humans now trying to command the innocent Night Elves! D:< Blast them!

As for the topic; I really, really hope they don’t add weird class/race combinations. I can live with Zandalari, Dark Iron and Kul Tiran DK’s. I can’t live with Mag’har, Vulpera, Lightforged Draenei, Pandaren and Mechagnome DK’s… D:<

You enjoy spitting on night elven history and my dreams? You enjoy sucking the joy out of my life :sob:?

Terenas knew about the slave gladiator ring, but it’s unclear in the novel to what extent he knows about their treatment. Arthas visits in person to collect taxes from Blackmoore and witnesses one of Thrall’s fights in the ring, at which point he raises his concerns about how grooming him while at the same time subjecting his people to poor conditions is going to backfire.

Earlier in the novel when he and Jaina were younger, he had no sympathy for the orcs but Jaina managed to open his mind enough to understand that if they’re not fighting back, they should just be left alone. One day the might fight back.

Just let them mope around all depressed in their lethargy.

Oooo nice.

Yeah, in many cases it’s implied that humans enslaved orcs and ogres (on a moderate scale) in WoW.
Thrall, Greekik, Rehgar are named orcs enslaved by humans. King Terenas was aware of this and, while it’s implied it was frowned upon, he allowed it as long as the crown would receive some profits.
The house of Ashvane still practices (illegal?) slavery to a degree.

As for classes I’m against a libertarian approach (where any race can be any class). Honestly certain races can easily ruin the theme that classes were meant to represent (holy cows, pandaren DK for example)

No matter the new lore, they will not fit in and Legion Order Halls proved it. I’m also slightly pissed by the fact everyone and their mother can be a mage.

Blizzard has been slowly dismantling the old lore and now they’re left with this skeleton filled of contradictions.

Orcs is well known by now, with our without the extend known by the Crown, Ogre’s is new for me. Ogre’s were never put in interment Camp’s, right?

This is the only one of the ‘darker’ classes that truly fits them. The reason for this is that becoming a DK isn’t generally a voluntary process.

That they wouldn’t want to become one doesn’t mean they won’t try to make the best of their situation once they are.
