You get to choose between the new zone or the old starting zone if I remember it correctly.
I do not mind this whole new zone as it is a good way to get new folks better prepared but I would’ve loved to see all the old starting zones updated to better suit the intro to the game.
I choose new zone with reflection on what the race has gone through and where they came from.
New starting zone shouldn’t just be something to be glossed over and homogenized because the first minutes of the game should be that memorable and strike you.
Guess it would cost us a raid tier to make a zone where the story and hardships a race currently went through.
I’d ordinarily agree with you, but Blizzard does need to save some face right now. That’s not going to be in another world revamp, given underestimating how much time and resources it’d cost is a big part of what led to Cataclysm’s mediocrity. The phase is a meme, but at least one raid did have to be sacrificed for the world revamp.
An actual decent Shadowlands is a lot more important (imho) than a few zone updates. Ideally, we could have both, but I’d rather the former than the latter.
Ironically the main use of implosion right now is the explosive potential azerite trait. To be honest the only way in the world they’re going to make demonology viable in Shadowlands will be to make a lot of the azerite trait effects baseline as right now if you lack even one of three specific azerite traits your damage just falls into a ditch.
Doesn’t https://www.wowhead.com/news=281913/battle-for-azeroth-new-formula-for-calculating-ability-damage this BfA change make it not that big of a deal? Like it’ll probably need a passive ability for number tweaking but it won’t be a huge fix or ground-up redesign.
The point of this seems to be to teach new players how to play so I can see why they’re doing it. That said, how many new players does WoW really get these days? I think teaching people how to play their class, the mini-dungeon and having class-specific content is kind of neat to be honest.
I mean, it’s Blizzard so I’m sure they’ll find some way to mess it up, but I think in principle it’s a cool little idea for newer players. And then we get to choose what expansion we want anyway so it’s all good.
… Look I don’t wanna see this in a negative light yet I can’t help but feel I was utterly cheated because I actually had to grind BfA boring *** reps to get mines.
