[Spoilers][Theory] Ardenweald, the Night Warrior, and Elune

TL;DR - The Night Warrior is part of the Shadowlands, and helps guide elven souls to Ardenweald. The Night Warrior power is tapping into the Shadowlands and specifically Ardenweald - the complete mirror or the Emerald Dream.

Do read the full article but I’d love to hear some discussion

I had a thought on Ardenweald. I wonder if Ysera has gone there, due to her connection to the emerald dream, (or if she’s in the maw like everything else)

I wonder if there’s a potential for her to be reborn, or at least a storyline where we free her from the maw and let her rest in Ardenweald

Wasn’t there datamined Ysera conversations or am I wrong here?

What i understand so far is that Sylvanas is being powered up by the maw. The more dead go in, the more powerful she becomes. Question is, how long has this been going on? End of Legion? End of Wrath when she killed herself? If it is at the end of Legion then Ysera will probably be in Ardenweald. If it was before Legion, then i think Ysera will be in the Maw and is powering Sylvanas.

In the panel it’s been said souls have been going to the maw for years. So it’s since before Legion as expansions take one year in game.

Actually, until Sylvanas broke the helm of domination the souls went straight to the arbiter, or the Night Warrior in Ysera’s place - and then sent to the appropriate realm. It’s only after Sylvanas broke the crown that souls started pouring into the Maw directly.

Was covered in the What’s Next panel

Huh, I distinctly remember it being said that souls have been going to the maw for years during the wow panel earlier today.

Either way, it’s just a theory, we don’t know exactly what’s been going on - hopefulyl we’ll get some answers on that front soon

In the Deep Dive, he said that the dead from the Burning of Teldrassil had gone to the Maw, so it’s been happening since before the Helm was broken.

I doubt Ysera will be in the maw, if we take that Sylvanas’s power from the void started from when she made the deal during legion. We see Ysera wandering around in the Emerald dream later on during legion.

I’m pretty confident we’ll learn more about Elune and perhaps the Night Warrior. Tyrande is playing a role in Ardenweald.

They said there’s an infinite amount of realms within the shadowlands. I sure hope that Elune holds a covenant of her own, one where kaldorei spirits might end up being shipped off to. Perhaps the lack of anima is the reason for why Tyrande felt like Elune has abandoned us.

Turns out Sylvanas made the deal with the jailor when she killed herself at the end of the wrath of the lich king. This means that every death that went to the shadowlands has been powering her since the end of wrath.

Well we do not know that.

Apparently it was not until Teldrassil that the ‘‘circle’’ was broken and all souls went straight to the Maw instead of being judged before being sent to specific covenants.

Says who and where?

Edit: I recall the devs saying it’s been broken for the past few years.

According to who? I thought they just showed the burning of Teldrassil as it being her plan all along.
I think Ion specifically mentioned the situation being like this for a few years, making me believe it was before BfA, at least.

We don’t actually know when the “wheel” broke yet. My guess is whatever pact Helya and Sylv did.

I second your guess.

My only hope is that player characters that are not the Hero can enter the Shadowlands at some point when we establish ourselves in Oribos and some nelves can experience Ardenwald.
