Have they changed anything with the pets? I just feel my pet is more squichy than before 
Back after a years break and yeah pets feel super squishy now. Before I could grab a ton of mobs then get my pet to tank them while I AOE but not even 2-3 mobs my pet has issues with and thats with leeching + mend.
your item lvl is rather bad, and i mean bad as in really stinker. pet toughness scales with your gear.
You both had bad gear. checked you both,it will be better when ur better geared.

The one in question has an ilvl of 263 atm. it still feels squichy 
Pets are squishier in general. Tank pets funnily enough are the squishiest.
If you want a semi decent tank pet you are forced to use clefthoof as a BM
Other than that, pets atm are just useless bloodlustable dots.
