What do you guys think is a good size of a SSD disk today. I understand 250 is a bit too little. What about 500? or is aiming for 1tb ideal? Wondering since I am building a PC. Would like to be able to run OS + 3-4 games and some programs (Photshop, Premiere) from the SSD.
500gb to 1tb is a good spot value wise atm. think most games are around 50-100gb atm. the programs aren’t big, at least for the programs themselves. windows 10 not huge, 15-20gb maybe?
so to be a bit pessimistic let’s say 400gb for your games, 30gb for your programs. i’d get 1tb.
I’m currently using a 250GB for Windows & have dedicated a 500GB ‘just’ for WoW… that said, I only play WoW.
Get a 1 TB one. Don’t listen to the guy who says 500 GB. It’s nonsense and you’ll regret it.
Why don’t YOU buy the 1TB SSD for them…?
You seem to be shouting your mouth off a lot in the last few days & I’d love to see verifiable credentials for doing so.
Maybe if you tried suggesting what others should do - rather than telling them - you may find yourself getting some (more) credibility…
Why should I be buying the SSD for the OP??
OP asked if he should get 500 or 1 TB and I explained to him that he will regret anything less than 1 TB which is a fact.
You sound like you’re just upset someone else actually knows what they are talking about? Your post kinda said it all, you only play WoW so probably best if you don’t talk about hardware. OP said he wants to play 3-4 games so someone who only plays WoW should not be commenting. Have some respect.
That works both ways… YOU were the one telling OP to ignore other people’s comments.
Maybe I should have added that I’ve been building PC’s for over 20 years but my comment was just by way of observation.
EDIT:
As far as a total storage solution, you could do worse than three drives:
OS drive: 500-1000GB, ideally m.2 (depending on what other/regular app’s/programs you use)
Regular/current games drive: ~1-2TB SSD
Bulk storage drive: As big as it needs to be for whatever documents/files you cannot afford to lose… as well as games you want to keep/archive for later.
