How much damage can delay stagger ability? Is there any addon to track the damage delayed?
When a brewmaster monk takes damage, that damage is split into two parts - part A and part B.
Part A is taken immediately like normal damage, reducing the monk’s current hit points as one would expect.
Part B is not taken immediately, but instead is moved to the monk’s stagger pool.
The ratio of A / B is determined by the monk’s agility stat, and can be seen on their character info screen (default keybind: C).
Each second, the monk passively takes damage equal to 10% of his current stagger pool, and that amount of damage is removed from the stagger pool.
To my knowledge, there is no upper limit for the points of damage which can be in the monk’s stagger pool at a given time (other than, of course, how much damage the monk can take without dying).
The amount of incoming damage which gets redirected is further improved by the use of Ironskin Brew.
Incoming non-physical damage gets redirected to stagger at 35% of the normal rate (so 65% less efficient).
The default blizzard UI tracks the amount of damage currently staggered in two ways – one is the debuff icon. It changes from green to yellow to red depending on the amount of stagger currently pooled up (as compared to your max health). Mousing over it will display the numeric value of the current stagger pool in the tooltip.
The other way is the little swirly UI curves around your character – these correspond directly to the colour of the debuff icon mentioned above.
There are ways of tracking the damage delayed – one idea would be to use a weakaura to read the current numerical value of stagger, compare it to your max health, and display the resulting ratio as a progress bar.
There might also be dedicated addons for doing just this, but i am not aware of any specific one.
