Hello everyone.
I have a question about the upcoming changes regarding stagger effectiveness.
Our stagger magic effectiveness will increase from 35% to 45%.
The way I interprate this is as follows:
Lets say in about 396 ilvl with Shuffle uptime you should be at about 70% stagger.
So, physical damage has a 100% stagger effectiveness. So sitting at 70% stagger with shuffle uptime, lets calculate when we take about 100 dmg after versatility and armor calculation.
100 physical damage taken with 70% stagger (100% effectiveness vs. physical) = 30 damage to face, 70 damage in staggerpool.
Magical damage doesn’t get mitigated at 100% effectiveness but at 35% effectiveness.
So if we have 70% stagger with shuffle uptime, only 35% (45% on wednesday) is effective, meaning that we dont stagger 70% magic damage in our pool like physical damage but stagger close to 24,5% (31.5% on wednesday).
So let’s say today we take 100 magical damage. 75.5 will hit the face, 24.5 will enter the staggerpool.
Wednesday we take 100 magical damage. 68.5 will hit the face, 31.5 will enter the staggerpool.
So if this is how stagger effeciency works, we will take 7% less magic damage to the face, but it will still enter the staggerpool so this is absolutely NOT damage reduction. It does open the window for better mitigation through PB.
The 7% less magic damage pre-stagger isn’t going to solve the problems with massive magical damage spikes, let alone the bleed damage from the bird in AA.
It’s something, but it feels very very underwhelming.
