kinda ridiculous, got good self healing my self but looking at dmg meter.
1 sun fire and 1 moonfire = 7k dmg
I can easy die after the druid dies even when I am at 100% from just the dots
They keep breaking PVP with badly designed PVE sets
They can’t balance retail, abandoned cata, why would they be able to fix SOD?
They would rather add new stuff to the shop for the fan boys/ whale to lap up instead of fixing their games.
Starfall is not a dot. Tho in BGs Boomie dots are kinda meh, a lot of dot dmg is reduced, and as such just sitting there and hard casting will kill the target drastically faster than dots.
Open world is a different story. But like I said, in that case most of the classes are busted. The dmg is too high with out the dmg reduction and increased hp.
As for Starfall, its a cleave. Im sure cleave kills unintended targets all the time. And while yes, the big bad Boomie looks menacing during Starfall, the actual dmg that is killing you ? All hard casted.
How so ? 20 stars cap vs a 15 man team in AB. Each star hits… I wanna say 150-200. Aka if you target most of the team its just visual noise as most will eat less than 2 stars.
On the other hand Starfire can crit for 5k. So yes, nerf/remove Starfall by all means, you will still get steamrolled by Boomkins.
But this never ends, because as soon as Boomkins are nerfed to the ground, you will move on to Ele, or Shockadin, or Hunter or what ever else is strong that you are not playing. And the only time you will be “happy” is if your class is on top. Same posts different day.
they are due for a nerf.
starfall needs to have some more weaknesses.
from what i gather its only weakness is dispelling (and i am not even 100% sure about that) and considering that druids can cover themselves in a million HoTs and buffs to shield starfall from purging, i’d say it needs a harder counter.
something like if you stun the druid, the entire spell/channel is shut down and stopped, and also no spell pushback on it.
Well my big bad ele shammy heals for 700 odd with a lesser healing wave. Moonfire ticks for 600 odd.
On top of that you have sunfire beating your face in, as well as starfall. The push back suffered trying to cast with those 3 spells equates to lava burst taking roughly 5 seconds to cast, which means they are able to get that 4k critting starfire down no problem.
Lets not even talk about the obnoxious stun that starfall does either…

the dot crits on boomie are just plain stupid in PvP, either make it a rune (like lock/SP) or dont give em that at all. simple solution.
post above explains prettymuch why this isnt fun, warlock and SP are hardcasting DoTs to a portion and boomie just instants them.
Or make it a set bonus, just like they did for feral druids bleed crits

Small hint, Starfall is not whats killing you in organized pvp. So I am 100% fine if SF ate a nerf xD

Not one of you really understand where the Boomkin dmg comes from.
The only issue when you nerf SF, dots and… what ever else was mentioned, it will kill PvE boomie which is good at best. Dont see Blizzard doing that for the same of a hand full of people who play PvP.
But I will say, as iv said before, about 4-5 specs need adjustments. And yes Boomkins are there too.
its not cancelled by stuns, its merely paused by stuns.
it continues ticking when the druid is no longer stunned but ok mate, you really gonna sit there and defend starfall in its current form.

Im really not sure how you can say sunfire/moonfire are “useless”. Only thing I can think of is that you are alluding to the fact that they can be dispelled.
If they are not dispelled, they deal insane amounts of damage, over a very short period of time.
Also please, horde druids, dont use Starfall when getting DMF. You kill the citizen and the raid gets dishonorable kill penalty
Could not really be any more clear than this.
Dispel is one counter sure. But most premades have multiple Boomies, so dispelling is not really ideal. They simply do 40% less dmg on top of A LOT more hp than in the open world.
So is it fully useless ? No, but imo its not really a good use of time to kill something. In the open world ? Different story, the dots are monsters. But again, the only way to balance these things is if Blizzard made all this pvp dmg work the same in the open world, then it would be a lot more balance, but again many classes (like Rogues) would suffer a lot more.
and therein lies problem.
the spell is too strong to have its only counter being dispelling.
it simply shouldn’t do all the things it does from a fundamental level.
the devs gave druids too much power with this spell.
its gotta be dispellable (and the dispel needs to be able to actually hit it through the million hots and buffs druids cover themselves in to shield starfall).
and it needs to be interruptable by stuns.
also, no more than 1 stun per target hit by any star.
and multiple druids can’t stack the stuns, meaning if one druid stuns a target, you activate DR for any other druid’s starfall stun.
or better yet; starfall is not affected by the obnoxious arcane stun talent at all.
take your pick, because something has to to give, and this is your chance as a boomkin player, to suggest which “nerf” to your class you’d prefer.
try to be objective.
You should do comedy, I did have a good laugh from these 1 button counter suggestions.
You are not playing BGs alone, rely on your team to cc and counter things if your class cant.
p.s. Starfall does not stun.
a one-button counter for a one-button ability that happens to be a cringe fire-and-forget crutch that immensely annoys everyone in your general vicinity.

Not the same power level. Your dispel has no cd and is a very early lvl spell. Starfall has a 1.5 min cd and is meant to be a power spell. Same as Wings and many other such spells.
Now again, it is counterable. Its just not a /yawn-counter. Now imo im fine if a Silence stopped it from continuing, as it does not now. But a dispel ? It would be a dead spell.
CD Spells need a CD spell to counter it for better balance, otherwise there is a large power discrepancy.

ok easily bump that up to 3-5 minutes while we’re at it, on top of at least some of the suggested nerfs.
and stop ignoring the point i made about druids shielding their starfall with a million HoTs and buffs, and lets not pretend the 3 disc priests and 5 ret paladins you premade with aren’t helping you do so either.
mate, literally spampurging druids and for some curious reason the last buff purge seems to want to target is starfall.
counterable is subjective at best.
either dispel and purge needs to have high priority when it comes to targeting AND REMOVING starfall, or it needs other types of nerfs, such as having the AOE stun removed or an increased cooldown timer, or being interruptable with a simple kick, pummel or earth shock.
there are 3 classes in the game who actually has a silence spell, and one of those needs you to be casting to actually hard-silence you, while another needs to be a specific spec to do so, while the third HAS to have a specific pet active to do it.

you need to survey the situation and decide whether or not to risk using your CD and not just mindlessly spam it whenever you can without fear of having it countered.

Boomkins dont hot themselves. Its a useless cast. And while people rotate in and out of the grp, generally we take Shockadins, not Rets. Rets die too easily and their dmg is too random. Warriors and Shockadins are far far superior.

Look… arguing with you is pointless, its like arguing with most Classic players, there is a lack of game mechanics understanding which I cant explain and you would not believe me even if I did because the idea that you are simply not good is not something you would ever accept as a reality.
Boomkins are too strong in PvP, they need a nerf, and so do 3-4 other specs. Us going in a circle wont make any of that happen. Enjoy SoM 2.0 and hope Blizzard gets it better next time.
its up to blizzard to move whatever dps loss you’d have from a nerf to starfall into another spell, preferably something that is single target and/or less obnoxious in a pvp setting.

i do not play druid, and i have only been able to make guesses when it comes to countering starfall, and so far it seems nothing works.
if what you are doing right now, is confirming that it is in fact undispellable, then LMAO you just shot yourself in the foot, because that is simply a point in favor of the argument i am making, which is that starfall needs nerfs.
