Ive recently discovered that Starfall now pulls mobs that are not in combat in M+.
Its happened enough times and in scenarios where its obvious, so i know its an issue.
This needs to be patched.

Back in my days… that was the standard and using AoE always required skill to use it only if you wouldn’t pull. Hope for the younger generation it will get fixed soon.
I think that’s fine but isn’t Starfall such a huge 40 yard AOE it would become useless in a dungeon as it would aggro most of the room!
Does it? I haven’t noticed it doing dmg to anything unless I aggro it first.
I think thats exactly how it should be, a situational spell. Having to make sure you dont pull the entire thing
we need tol dagor as a m+ dungeon in s2.
It’s situational enough based on the number of targets you’re fighting and whether there’s a priority target that warrants starsurging instead. Having your only AoE spender pull mobs that aren’t in combat with you and aren’t anywhere near bodypull range is nothing but annoying.
If it were to pull mobs by design it would either have to be stationary so it doesn’t move along with the player character, or have a much smaller radius, but a 40 yard AoE that moves with you should not pull mobs you’re not fighting.
Same issue for Shadow Priest Tendrils in HoI specifically, let´s hope they fix the issue in time for the addon at least.
Makes the start of the Dungeon very interesting to play though if you just know everything will be added but not when.
SP’s void tendril is doing the same, and it’s really annoying me keeping me in combat for its entire uptime duration as it tries to attack things even outside its range.
Annoyed me so much I turned WM OFF as I got jumped on numerous times because of being stuck in combat not being able to fly off — people have gone into overdrive ganking this late into the expansion.
Then you need to give another AoE spender to Balance.
If pulling with AoE has to be a thing then you need to treat spell equally.
We have sunfire. I mean come on there has to be some risk to starfall since it covers such a massive area compared to other aoes in the game
Besides thats what it used to be in wow and even in wc3 a very big area that targets all enemies. I wouldnt mind if boomkins had a few more spells tho, but starfall is fine
Then it really is practically a useless spell isn’t it?
Starfall is fine the way it is. You press it on 2 targets in solar eclipse and 3+ in lunar eclipse.
I haven’t noticed it pulling mobs that aren’t aggroed, though I recall a similar issue back in Tol Dagor where starfall would hit mobs that are fighting each other as they technically were in “combat” just not with you. But it’s okay, because the spec will be virtually unplayable for in TWW unless they tune us better! So it’s a non-issue
Why? People already tend to pull the entire dungeon in one go anyway.
We already dont really use cc anymore, atleast stuff like this makes sure there atleast is some risk for popping some big aoes nilly willy
