Happens a lot… I paid a bill online for £400 and it looked like it come out my bank but failed at the other end… it went back in my bank after a week then I repaid it with no problem.
Sometimes the transaction just fails.

No its the same and only card ive had for years, it wouldnt be so bad if i could just phone them up, but this covid stuff just lets most companys customer service get away with murder now
You are having a joke right? The GMs are working from home so hiw exactly are they gonna be able to run the phone lines?
Also same card for years? They change every couple of years to prevent fraud…
It takes 72 hours and its the banks issue not blizzard. Also if you’ve levelled up past 20 good luck with that refund.
Oh yeh good luck with that refund… whats ur problem. im trying my best to get the product that i paid for and not getting any help
And I’ve told you why it takes 72 hours, its the banks not blizzard its a pending payment. Blizzard can’t do anything about it because it is the banks who take the time processing it, the same as with all card payments.
If you’ve levelled past 20 you obviously have the game time you’ve paid for anyway just some restrictions are taking time to lift and the only thing that will help youbtheir is patience.
I spoke to my bank and they said they took it. and i would have prefered to have know about this before buying, or i wouldnt have bothered. never in 7 years have i had to wait 72 hours for my sub to become fully active, its just a *^&%ing rip off
It isn’t a rip off at all. Its the way all card payments work, they take 72 hours to process and to be honest a big part of that 72 hours is for your protection so the payment can be cancelled if its fraudulent.
Can you play? Can you level past 20? You might have to wait up to 72 hours tonuse the AH or mailbox and trust me you arent missing too much gameplay there, the quests are much more interesting.
Right, I give up. I’ve tried being patient and understanding, but if you’re just going to complain to anyone trying to give you advice sod it.
It’s not your fault it’s not blizz’s fault it’s just how transactions work. If you think the best solution is to complain and demand a refund go ahead, just don’t waste our time in the process.
I cant do pet battles, use the AH mailboxes, i cant go over 10gold. or sell the stuff i have my bags full up with… how am i ment to play? please enlighten me
Can you level past 20?
when i logged in it automaticly dinged me to lvl 25 from the xp i somehow got from when i couldnt go past 20. i havent even been able todo anything because my bags are full. im still sat in stormwind doing nothing
That is sadly just how it works, any transaction is always classed as pending, the communication between machine and bank is instantaneous, however the ‘back office’ stuff can take up to 72 hours to fully show on both parties accounts. This is why it is always prudent to look at ‘funds available’ rather than ‘Balance’. For example a transaction I have just made now, at my local shop, was -authorised- because my bank had confirmed I was good for the funds, however in terms of formally clearing, it will not do so for a few days. As someone who has worked in international finance, specifically fraud investigation, I would say that right now things are working slower because of Covid.
This might sound bizarre, as what should a human virus have to do with computers and how they work? Its not the computer aspect, it is the human checks and balances to -ensure- no one is committing fraud. One thing many people on my social media feeds are saying is that they are getting asked much more often to put in the card and type their pin, rather than simply use contactless, ever since Covid started.
This -is- intentional, as sad and unpleasant as it is, Covid has had two major effects. 1. The Amount you can pay for using Contactless has been increased for the duration (Certainly in the UK at least) but 2. You are much more likely to have to insert the card and type in your pin number, this is because in a time when people are restricted in getting cold hard cash out of a machine, it would be incredibly easy for a thief to utterly rinse someone’s account just by stealing their card.
If you think about it, this makes sense, we’re in week 9?10? of Lockdown in the UK right now. -Every- transaction I have made has been contactless, I do not actually have a single coin or note in my wallet, and have not done so for at least two months now.
This -does- sadly have an effect on transactions by electric billing, as sometimes things get flagged for a human to check.
I’d leave it till overnight to be honest, though if it is about selling your JC items I wouldn’t worry overly, at level 25 you’d be getting next to nothing for them anyway given what your profession level is. That’s not meant to sound snide, I’m levelling a JC alt as we speak, higher level than that, and I’m getting nowt, just having to Vendor it…
Ok can you use the bank? If so go dump stuff in the bank and go level.
The coppers you get at this stage mean nothing and most of what you get isn’t worth anything at such a low level anyway.
Go buy some professions too if you can to spend some gold up, open uo the extra bank bag slots and buy cheap bags for that too.
There playing.
Thankyou for your detailed reply, I understand your point about it not being too important about selling the rings i made, but somehow i just cannot do that to myself. Dude im like ocd i really must sell them, i cant just delete them, it would kill me x
PS: my bank is also full no joke, also got all the 12bag slots
I don’t know what to suggest apart from either try to wait a little longer (Remember many EU banks do not actually roll over on money till 0200 or 0300 am, not dead of midnight or instantly) or if you are genuinely concerned, you could try a ticket, regardless of the average times it says it takes, I just had one looked at and addressed in three hours, today, so that may be an option.
Theb just level and leave the trash, its a couple of days if minor inconvenience but at least you can still play and level up. By the time its over you can dump everything on the AH and you will have forgotten all about it being a “thing”
It really is the banks doing though and kinda is there to benefit you even if its a PITA inconvenience right now.
Well even still, i spend many weeks leveling up this warlock and paladin, maxxed all skills professions, got all the bags, used all my gold wisely and save everything i wanted to sell for the day i got subscription, i even held out todo the most quests, ive done eveything there is todo as a starter on 2 characters. now im just watching my game time clock go down and cant do much about it
same ;D i was pleasantly surprised they credited the correct account( i didnt use any in-game activities on the ‘‘wrong account’’)
You must know that this has nothing to do with Blizzard at all, right? Bank sevices sometimes take a lot more time than expected and for them to register that you actually payed, might take some time. In some cases 2-3 days. Still it is up to the banks and not Blizzard. As you are lvl25 I assume you can lvl beyond the lvl cap so they lifted that restriction quite fast.
I just feel defeated
