Heloo all. I just started on a new server and was thinking of how I can make some gold early on. Not lot of gold of course but enough to buy some good bags, epic mount on 70, etc.
Actually, I am thinking of professions but I dont know which prof sells early on, since endgame gear does not need to level previous expansions materials.
Any tips?
SWC has some nice people, but not an ideal economy, so not easy to goblin your way to the top.
From my reading of tUJ, Hexweave Bags, which are an easy number for modest regular gold, have more sellers than buyers there:

For one bag, at least, go to Big Keg in Kun-Lai Summit, take the quest to escort the caravan, do that, then take the quest

That nets you a 24-slot in 10 minutes.
From 110 on, Herbing will easily make you pocket money, but you have to get past 110 first.
For quick cash, get to 101, so that you get the Legacy Buff for Mists, then fly to the Lorewalkers’ hangout above Mogushan Palace, find the Raid Finder Storyteller, and ask to be sent to each of the raid wings in turn. Total cash from selling drops should be ~5K. Then fly to all the raids and do them again on Normal. Another ~5K.
One of my Hordies is farming Draenor raids for … some things. (It’s funny … I’ll probably never mog them, I can’t even remember what they are, but I do it anyhow … I need help!) If you want to tag along, that will rack up the thousands.
Step one: Pick a full server
Step two: Get a gathering profession (like mining)
Step three: Get a second gathering profession (like herbalism)
Step four: Play the game
Stept five: Get all the nodes
Repeat this all the way to
Step number sixtythree: sell your produce slightly cheaper than the cheapest seller. Then send the stuff that’s worth little to alts that can use them to level professions so they can make valuable stuff.
Optional strat: outsource the sellers on common goods and jack up the price
Oop-optional strat: buy low sell high
Gathering professions while leveling. If you need some pocket gold then LFD will net you a few gold per run early on.
Also, mining can skin elementals for ore and herbalism can skin tree and plant enemies for… well, plants
