Starting WOW Classic

However in fresh anniversary realms you will find a lot more low level Bots*

Era will have a fluxuating player base, but there will long term be players there cuz ppl enjoy classic. But if you wanna have fun and play a populated version Anneversery is the way to go

Can’t wait to hear your experiences since I am planning to there soon as they open the transfers again.

Hope the population is fine and other things are not bad as people saying. Also, for active BGs.

The difference in Era nad QoL changes in Anniversary is so minimal it hardly matters so that is not something you should worry about.

I do however would worry about having people to do dungeons with as you level up since many of your quests are group quests and dungeon quests. So for that reason I would recommend Anniversary.

Welcome mate! Which side are you playing on? If you’re on Alliance I can help you with quests and dungeons etc - actually considering starting another char myself atm.

I’m Teldor-Earthshaker in game

I’m sorry, brother, but I joined the Horde. My fondest memories are from back in the days with Thrall, and I want to relive that experience. I forgot you can’t play both sides on the same PVP server, I joined Firemaw. But I suppose people can still play together on the same cluster, right? I’ll create a human paladin on Earthshaker later on, I want to see Elwynn Forest and Westfall again. :orange_heart:

In Era this is not entirely true, since it is clustered. There’s no problem having a Horde on Firemaw and an Alliance on Ashbringer - both in same PvP cluster and access to cluster-wide chats.

This was probably also the reason Blizzard opened up for transfers from PvE to PvP - which was not possible in vanilla until very late.

Excellent point! Totally forgot.

All good mate, I’m also a hordie at heart. I went alliance in 2019 just to try it out, and that’s how I ended up on the “wrong” side in classic

Enjoy the game and again, welcome!

Cheers! Who knows if our paths will cross later on. :grinning:

I was wondering, are race/class combos still a thing like they used to be in vanilla?

Yes, they are, it’s about racial abilities/passive skills matching the needs of the classes. I think there’s a lot of orc warriors, and less tauren/undead for instance. That said, go with what you want. If I’m starting a Horde character, it’s going to be an undead warrior. Why? Because it’s cool

If you want to add me as a friend, you can send me your battlenet ID on mail to Teldor-Earthshaker on the Alliance side (just make a level 1). Then we could chat across factions

Will most certainly do!

Are there any guilds for the Horde (and alliance) that welcome simpletons like myself who enjoy going on adventures, leveling up, running dungeons, engaging in world PvP, and participating in battlegrounds?
