All the bugs, class buff, nerf and old content scaling is getting destroyd. I really dont like this since they will spend maybe half a year to repair for example old content and classes.
I cannot expect this to be 100 pct done when the squish comes, the last 2 i experinced took ages to fix alot of old content at least. Any thoughts?
Yep, we all know how bad Blizzard is when it comes to the scaling of their content. So you are correct that I think we’re going to be experiencing a lot of bugs with specific content not matching the stat squish. Things appearing to be normal, but when you get smacked, you get one shot, it’s going to be both frustrating and funny.
But also, it means Blizzard’s going to have a fire lit under their butt to basically get themselves in gear to fix these bugs. Which we all know they’re very slow at doing anyway!
At the rate we gain stats and how they have to squish everything every other expac it really makes you wonder why they haven’t developed some sort of progressive squisher algorithm that sort of automatically fixes the problem with linear stat scaling in the current expac, and how to sort of automatically adjust the previous expacs to match the rate they want. Must be a big effort to do this kind of semi-manual reset every other time you make new content
Maybe this is the problem, but it feels like most people would be fine with each new patch adding maybe 10% of power on the top end, rather than our damage numbers literally doubling or tripling over the course of three raid tiers, but maybe this is what the average player wants
There are a lot of issues with small power increments, where trying to solve them individually creates new problems.
For example, Blizzard had stated that there needs to be a noticeable change in character power during a patch because that way it allows players who are not able to squeeze 100% of their characters performance to clear content before it is superseded by a new season. Trying to find an alternative to this problem causes the problem of borrowed power. For example, Undermine has had a reputation track with up to 18% damage and healing buff, which was not welcome generally as player power feels different when in and when out of the raid.
I’m just sad that old items are -literally- useless even for the content it once was used for, because of it.
I love stat squish because it brings down numbers that become astronomical, and because that’s currently the only way to reduce repair costs again.
They should make repairs a fixed cost, at a low-ish price…
But yeah, I expect tonnes of bugs as usual.
I’ve started saying “I expect worse than horrible, and I still get surprised with how bad it becomes” to basically anything in the world nowadays.
I think overall it is a good idea to do something about dps meters where some people are doing a billion dps.
But i am against the way they are doing it by destroying old content since they dont have the competences to perform them and then that they have to spend ages to clean up the mess.
But again i think they should lower the crazy dps by numbers , but then maybe install and algorytm that function everytime they do it. Another thing, why does every patch need to increase the dps by for example 500k, why not only 1 or 2 and make it count better by do some mob scaling instead?
The simplest way i could think of solving this for N/H/M tier raiding is just to introduce some sort of instance based set or item bonus for heroic and mythic, like how PvP ilvl scales for arenas and bgs
Normal would be “the” ilvl for the tier, heroic and mythic pieces would just scale up while inside the raid making it easier with the gear from that difficulty, as such mythic would still be VERY difficult, and gear progression would be tied to the raid but kept within the raid, could do the same for champion/hero/myth track pieces from m+ or delves to keep world content alive too
