State of Fistweaver

Hello,

I wonder if anyone in blizzard has tried pushing keys as a mw.
Or if they looked at how he was doing compared to other healers in keys/raid.

Peaceful holidays x)

same thoughts !
I don’t think they tried it with pugs XD
other healers can cover the group if something is wrong, not really MW.
I have some hope for 10.0.5, but when will they release it ?

I’ve tried some +9 with my prevoker, 10 ilevel lower than my monk, doing sh** with it, and doing the same amount of healing. I can save people with my prevoker, not my monk. ANd hardcasting a player seems really weak, i’ve seen better with my monk over the next patches and expansions

If SL is to be counted for I don’t think MW will ever crawl out of the poopie tier.

I’ve hopes for 10.0.5 but at the same time I’m skeptic AF. The change looks good on paper but they’ll probably not be in practise.

Under ideal circumstances (cleave dummy in valdrakken) the spec probably pushes comparable numbers to other healers. But abilities like faeline stomp and the dependency for hitting multiple targets often put it at a disadvantage that I cannot mitigate.

If blizzard’s intention was for MW to be extremely powerful in specific situations, while average to below average in others, they clearly failed. Even at it’s best, MW is not outperforming healers that can run laps around a boss or not have to worry about trash being moved, voidzones, sanguine etc. etc…

Ah, your question was directed at blizzard. My bad.

I would pay to see the lead designer of MW run some high keys in DF.

Love to play Monk, there is nothing like it, but i have the feeeling something is missing!
So Blizzard if you reading all our messages, make the new Sheilun talents more powerfull then evah, and give instant cast.

Perhaps that will help!! <3

The main issue with Mistweaver are ZERO worth utility. Only having raw healing makes them somehow… dull? Even there big cd Revival and Restoral are kinda of boring. All other healers have better cd and groupe utility. Having a healer with less healing power but great groupe utility is more worth then only raw healing. I mean look holy paladin. You pick a holy paladin only because of his utility. Otherwise if you need only raw healing you will pick a druid, shaman, holy priest or evoker but no Mistweaver because they have no br, buff or lust.

Think about raid size of 10 people a 2 / 2 / 6.
You can pair a lot of different healer combination but the Mistweaver is the only one who lacks on utility so you better decline any mistweaver and replace them with other healers. Because only raw healing sucks and has 0 impact.

It has been the case for years. Meanwhile holy paladin gets a battle ress, evoker has BL (which frees up an invaluable dps slot in m+). I can’t remember the last time we got some sort of utility but it was always balanced around the fact that we healed so much, similar to RDruid.

I recall that during wod fistweaving used to be a way to win a dps check on some bosses and that was enough to make it situational but still good enough, like adding another tank dps to the raid. It came with a stance and it didn’t heal nowhere near as much as the caster stance. Making it the main thing of the spec also meant that it had to balanced number wise. So now we have below average dps rotation for an average healing output.

As for me, I consider the gameplay during hellfire citadel with uplift and mana tea the golden age of this spec. Everything that came after felt like drifting away from the main concept of an throughput healer.

I still play it because I love monk as a class but I just wish people could try MW as it was and see the difference of what we have now.
