Watch the most recent community duel tournament with Bobka. He basically got deleted by 99% of the other classes although being arguably one of the best Classic Rogues ever.
Whoever thinks Rogues are strong at the moment is incredibly delusional. They’re garbage Tier in Group PvP and unless you fight an absolute Bot of a player, they’re not even that great in 1v1s anymore.
And don’t even get me started on PvE, basically a single target damage dealer with very mediocre damage output, 0 AoE capability while also not bringing any Utility to Groups/Raids. Rogues need some serious help and some bigger rune reworks.
A lot of classes have a way to prevent restealthing during blind(or event preventing it). From there its up to you to win somehow

Get smashes in PVP, get ignored anytime you try to join a gnomer raid. Really sad that the state of the class is so underwhelming.

In my opinion, the biggest mistake they made in SoD with rogues are tank runes. Now you have mediocre at best tank spec and you need to pump more new uninteresting runes every phase that won’t interfere with pvp.
That is how you end up with boring runes that is never even used or you don’t even need to bother getting them.
Instead rogues could get few other interesting builds along the side mutilate(poison) build.
Mediocre damage, mediocre threat, moderate survivability, and no group utility. Sad times.
It’s not that rogues are bad in themselves (and they might be ok in PVP - I wouldn’t know and don’t care), it’s just that they haven’t been improved for PVE since P1 whilst seemingly every other class has. I’m hopeful that this will be fixed soon, but patch after patch keeps zooming past with no love bestowed (except for Main Gauche, which nobody uses anyway).
I’m not expecting to top the logs - I’m too old and too casual for minmaxing now anyway, but it would be nice to be able to carry my own weight and not feel like the rest of the raid group is being charitable by having a rogue amongst their number.

Well you will never be top aoe tank. But on single target bosses rogue with shammy is prob best tank. I have to use salvation when im offtanking with warr tanks or pala tanks. And no they are not bad tanks. Rogue on single target threat is op.
Gnome wise rogue pump really hard , as long as you have the right group. WF + Dreamstate , dismantle / shadow oil. Easy top dps after hunter nerf
