Lets talk about state of Rogues…
First of all… Playing rogue in SoD is most fun. I loved phase 1 when i melt stuff with Honed Darkwater Talwar. Toped DPS meters in entire BFD. In phase 2 there is great change about Mutilate from 60 energy down to 40 energy. Dagger Rogue started to be fun. Leveling was fun. Luckily i started at phase start So there was no problem get in to SM etc… Even if i had 0 aoe… I still toped DPS over the aoe meta specs.
But now rogue is like D-F tier same as feral. But atleast feral brings something to party. We offer only pure DPS… Or OT which sometimes you get unlucky with Parry/Dodge and die.
As Pure DPS class which dominates clothies in PVP we have nothing for party.
- Our damage is decent (but other classes doing better)
- We have only single target… Target swaps are DPS loss
- We have nothing for party… No benefits we are just buff seekers
- There is lot of us… Yes a lot of rogues most of them dont even know about Vanish, energy pooling, Chain CC… Just Smash mutilate like monkey and hope for crits.
Playing Rogue is real pain even with guild. Most time you don’t get place in raid because you Are just melee Pure DPS and they can have shadow priest instead.
In pvp… We have shamans, locks, paladins, priests which instantly pop imunity after you jump on them or just fear, you trinket and you get random stun.
DoTs from shadow priest still kill you even if you win .
Shaman is super tanky and ehna can oneshot you you can’t outplay him untill you commit all in with cds reset.
At the end. Rogue is decent class, really fun but Feels unsatisfying untill you oneshot undergeared clothie mage with 1,1k Ambush + 700 crit mutilate.
Rogue needs something benefitical for the party. For example:
- increase group melee attack speed by 9% and their Attack Power by 3%
- Gives Chance in party ranged attacks can proc Instant Poison
- Increase damage of nature damage done by 3%
Also new rune Find Weakness.
Cheap shot or Backstab, Mutilate, Ambush critical hits actives on target Find Weakness for 3s which makes all Rogue physical damage pierces trought 100% Armor (effect decreased in pvp to 50%)
Sounds kinda op but everyone brings to raid anything. Even if we get only find Weakness … Would be great because we can melt high armor target’s which everyone would like.
Also for rogues and ferals… Just remove redirect. Is old annoying Burton to press. Make cp as personal resource because in this phase Is a lot of target swaps.
Also due to lack of aoe we need something for dungeons.

40 energy cost.
Scales with Backstab modifiers
Creates fan of deadly Knives which deals 100% of weapon damage to all target’s within 10y. Also they can apply poison.
Adds 1 CP… If they crit, they add 2 CP
We are currently forced to swap talents every single time.
Rogue is not worst… But compared to other dps classes He offers nothing.
