versa>crit is slightly better than versa>mastery for pve, if you do both pve and pvp i would suggest going versa>mastery=crit, since crit its gutted in pvp (raw dps). At around 30% vers crit gets better than vers, atleast for me in my sims
Wajoba is right for PVE. Stack versa > crit, you can almost forget about haste + mastery.
If you stack versa + crit, sims will tell you you need haste + mastery. Don’t listen to it. If you got on wowlogs and look up top10 ww monks, you will see each one stacks versa > crit, and almost none of haste and mastery.
I can personally confirm this. At first, I followed what my sim told me, and I wasn’t topping meters in raid and was getting ~70 parses. Once I changed to versa + crit, I was topping them and getting ~90 parses.
The great burst you see in others is because they stack versa > crit, and because we get a lot of mastery from Weapons Of Order and Palagos soulbind, and a lot of haste from Invokers. Resulting in us having a lot of each secondary stat.
Keep in mind though, if you are running Ancient Teachings of the Monastery legendary, haste gains a lot of value and makes you able to react faster to damage spikes in m+. Personally I run haste=crit>vers>>>mastery for dungeons with said legendary.
