Still happening - Huge FPS drops in dungeons

Dungeons in TWW are just killing my FPS whenever im in combat attacking large groups of mobs. My game is locked at 100fps and this stays constant until there’s a lot of mobs on screen.

Yes, nuking 50+ mobs at once will definitely lower your FPS. But this is even happening with packs of 6-7 mobs, and I’ve seen it go as low as 60 while fighting.

This is ridiculous honestly. It’s not like I’m trying to play on a ThinkPad either. I have an RTX 3080, 12600kf, 32GB RAM and I sincerely doubt the game has just advanced that much since Dragonflight that these specs are obsolete to keep up in the game.

What is going on?

Addons perhaps? Usually nameplate addons or damage meters have a huge impact on FPS when the number of targets gets high enough.

Could be a logging issue too. Make sure combat logging is not enabled.

If you can suggest something I’ve probably tried it.

  • Logging is off
  • I’ve removed all addons and WTF/Interface/Cache folders
  • Lowered all settings

Still FPS drops happening that weren’t before. I’m even running with “minimal” addons now (Plater, ElvUI, WeakAuras) and nothing is using much memory.

These threee addons (Plater, ElvUI, WeakAuras) are not minimal. They’re usually the most likely causes of in combat slowdown there can be.

Ditch Plater and WeakAuras and re-test.

It may not even be the base addon at fault but a custom aura or some attach to nameplate extra that’s broken in the new version of WoW.

I mentioned I’ve already done a full UI reset and tried with no addons

You could try this if you haven’t:

Sadly I’ve tried that too

Genuinely have no idea what’s going on
