Still no Hayven Games Memorial

Hi WoW community,

Hayven was a Youtuber that focussed his channel on exploring regions of World of Warcraft and the stories behind them.

Roughly two years ago Hayven sadly passed away due to cancer.

On Argent Dawn EU a big event happened at Uther’s Tomb (Hayven was a paladin) where people shared fond memories of him and paid their respects.

This also occured on countless other servers, people stuck around Uthers tomb for nearly 2 days.

That said: Many petitions and threads further, I want to give it one last shot.

Let’s get this thread up there, and share your fond memories and favorite videos of Hayven in the comments below.

I hope Blizzard will consider adding this.

RIP Hayven

I liked all of his videos , just few videos before he did pass away he had such plans before.

It so easy to get lost how easily life can be lost in an instant.
Memory is what we have in life, memory of people is what keeps us going .
I would also like to see some statue not just some random NPC standing in zone we will move on in next exp , i do realize it would be non-canon to put huge statue for him but some token would be nice.

WoW’s gonna be like a graveyard soon, there’ll be so many memorials. Is it really necessary? This is a fantasy game at the end of the day, and I’d rather not be confronted with real-world death in every zone.

Call me heartless, but that make-a-wish kid’s NPC in Mulgore still gives me the creeps.

No. I don’t want any sad memorials. They also ruin immersion. He’s gone, he doesn’t care anymore and he won’t see the memorial.

Also, not everyone follows Youtubers. I don’t even know who these people are, and I’d guess I was in the majority.

Too tricky…why should he have an npc? because he had a big YouTube platform?

What about the big wow fan who is also terminally ill, who would love to be immortalised in the game, they can’t have that just because thier not a big youtuber.

While I loved his content, as many others did, it would be popularity priveledge…and would cause more problems form blizz as people will start requesting thier favourite youtubers.

Next you’ll have an asmongold npc, bellular npc, taliesan, pilav( highly toxic player and racist, but recently survived a cancer scare but has a huge following).

Just hold onto your memories of him, don’t implant them into the world.

While I really liked his videos, and it is truly tragic what happened to him, I think some things are best left to memory.

Blizzard have honored some players in the past with memorials, but leave those gestures at their discretion. We already have enough people being offended by “why person X and not person Y?!?”

Demanding posts like this isn’t a nice way of honoring Hayvens memory.

Since the people who decide this at Blizzard never, ever come to the EU forums, your plea is wasted here. I don’t think people outside the game should be “immortalised” in it.

Nothing would cost Blizzard to make a gesture like this, game world is huge, there is enough of room to place somewhere the memorial.

I wouldn’t care much one way or the other if they added a memorial or not…
(Never heard of him until after he died.)

But that being said I don’t mind memorials for dead fans / developers and such. It can be a nice gesture if done right.
Wouldn’t have to be more than, say a plaque somewhere on a tombstone in the graveyard at Light’s Hope for example.
Something along the lines of :

"Here lies Hayven the Explorer. He sought out the hidden corners of our world, bringing the Light with him. May he rest in peace."

Then you’d reference Hayven playing a Paladin, the fact that he explored the game-world and a hint at the fact that he “shone a light” on these areas by explaining the lore behind them.

It wouldn’t require much, beyond picking a grave without any text on it and adding a plaque. Easy-peasy.
