What I think is needed on alts, assuming you have a level 60 who has exalted (or equivalent) Archivist & Death’s Advance rep:
Renown boost should be to 55/56 and not 40. This gives you the max conduit tree.
Base 226 conduits should be purchasable from Korthia with catalogue research (500 per).
You should be able to skip the Korthia campaign if you have done it on a character.
You should be able to buy any loot from the vendors for Death’s Advance & Archivists’s Codex if you have the rep on one character. This means you just need to make a currency purchase on your alt to start getting domination gear.
Base level domination shards need to be purchasable.
I’m still in the position where I cba to start a new alt because of the above and also have to grind out my choreghast leggos.
Dude how can you still complain??? Its so freaking easy with what we got , you can get gear with valor from your main and send to alt which means he gets easier time in Korthia.
You just wanna do Korthia for like 15-20 mins and you do RIFT and open some chests/nests or kill your covenant rare or some other. It takes you 20-25 mins max depending on your luck and you will end up with 2 Soultwining Crescent that you use to discover/improve your conduits up to 226. By the time you get conduits you want to 226 you will have enough korthia research fragments to buy Death-Bound Shard and get those conduits up to 252/239 WHICH IS ENOUGH FOR ALTS.
We have ENOUGH catch-up for alts , its just that people are trying to make their alts as strong as their mains but then ITS NOT ALT, its your 2nd main but you should know all this , you are 8/10 mythic .
Also in terms of korthia campaign you can stop after chapter 4, you are also in mythic raiding guild, dont you guys have some hc/normal raid runs during week for alts? Just bring your alt to that or sign up for some pugs because you will get accepted based on your mains progress.
While catch up for alts is a reality we have to live with… maybe people should still be expected to play their alts, you know? You can hop in M+ with renown 40 and farm the missing levels quickly. You can farm them in heroics as well
In an ideal world, every character you make will exist in isolation, nothing shared between characters and no catch up, and the game is designed in a way where catch up isn’t needed. I agree - the way WoW is designed DEMANDS catch up mechanics. This is merely because WoW isn’t designed well.
In an ideal world, alts will feel good to play without having to skip anything.
There’s nothing engaging about going 40-55. I can redo a convenant campaign i’ve done before and re-do the korthia campaign to get close plus a few dailies. All solo content.
What I really wanna do is not regrind solo content but hop into the game with others without spending hours trying to grind out the minimal power level for others to accept me into their group.
In Wrath, you dinged 80 and spent a day or two getting your badges for your previous tier set and incidental loot from HC and and off you went- we are so far off that now with leggos, dom sockets, conduits, rep and the RNG too it’s unbelievable.
Because it takes time which you obviously dont have since you are posting this asking for more catch up. If you want to have 2 primary characters then why should you do things on one and on next one skip them? Who cares if you already did them , its your choice to make second character as strong as your main and basically have 2 mains. So what makes that 2nd character special?

We got enough catch up its just you lazy to do it or you dont wanna invest time in your character EVEN THO YOU CHOSE IT TO BE AS GOOD AS YOUR MAIN, Cmon bruh
Players are asking for more catch up because the game is being full of useless unfun systems. If the game didn’t have neither conduits nor legendaries, then nobody would ask for more catch ups.
This I disagree with, the Korthia quests give you Renown and I have found it more of a grind to reach max renown without the quests after switching Covs.
It is annoying but given that you have rep buffs right now and including a 50% rep buff you can buy for alts -it goes very quick to get to T6. Took my druid less than 3 days of farming Korthia rare, chests, nests & mawshrooms etc. Then going into the rift and just killing everything. One run in the rift and I managed to get 8k rep. Doing this a couple of times (assuming you have the time) you easily reach T6, not to mention have sufficient resources for upgrades. The only snag here is getting enough stygia to buy all the pieces. This may take a little more rare farming in the maw and dailies.
But that’s kinda what you have to do right now, too. Getting 20 renown levels is insanely easy. The only thing that can pose a problem really is conduits.
I agree with you on principle - getting an alt ready should be quick. But the problem here isn’t the lack of skips. It is the need for skips in the first place.
And the problem with solo content isn’t that it’s solo… it’s that it is way too boring. Blizzard designs level 60 content to be beatable by people who don’t know how to control their characters. As if they didn’t spend 60 levels learning.
Imo, can’t get everything almost for free. There’s quite a number of things in place, you still need to play the game. Unless that’s something you don’t want to do
