I’m following guides / vids to share a lock out in Dragon Soul but it’s not working. The guides are from Shadowlands so I would have assumed they’d work.
Is it still possible or have they “fixed” this?
Been running this place on and off for years and tiring of the RP and the dance on spine.
Depends which mount from DS you are after. If you want Blazing Drake or Experiment 12-B then the lockout share works normally, but you have to have the raid on normal. If it’s on HC, it won’t work.
If you are after Life Binder’s Handmaiden though, you are screwed and you gotta do the full clear everytime. If it’s that one, I feel your pain man… I got it 1 week before SL myself, after 160 something runs. I had to delete 2 blazing drakes in the proccess 
The locksharing via alts for heroic worked only for Invincible and for Mimiron’s head before it became a TW raid iirc (clear on 10 man with alt A, inv alt B to raid, alt B can switch from 10 normal to 25 hc).
I have this one (in fact I’ve seen it twice). The one I really want is Blazing Drake for the Awake the Drake cheev. But I wouldn’t say no to an Experiment either.
Do I clear up to Spine on Normal, share lockout, enter instance on Alt, wait for Leader, kick Main, set to HC on Alt and kill Madness?
I thought you had to do the whole raid on HC for the mount to drop.

Ahhh, you are the lucky in that case 
If you only want the Blazing drake, do exactly what you mentioned minus the part where you put it on heroic on alt (you don’t have to + it won’t work). Keep the raid on normal, because Blazing drake drops on normal difficulty aswell.

What about Mimiron’s Head? I already have Invincible.

Exactly the opposite of what you thought Handmaiden only on HC (was 100% drop chance in 4.3. in Cata) and Blazing on both N and HC (about 1-2 % drop chance).
Ulduar is only ‘normal’. It doesn’t have a heroic mode. The ‘heroic modes’ were called Hardmodes in Ulduar, and it wasn’t something you could switch with right clicking your portrait and setting raid difficulty, the bosses became hardmode after doing something ‘special’ (for example not letting Keepers help you with Yogg, activating a red button before engaging Mimiron, destroying all 4 towers before Flame Leviathan, killing the heart on XT-002 fight and so on)
So TLDR, if you want to farm Mimiron’s head you deffo can with lockout sharing, just don’t deactivate any of the Keepers in the middle of the raid.

Got my Deathcharger in Stratholme this week, so looking for a new farm. I farm these for months and as soon as I get one I just move on to another one. Some day I’ll have them all and won’t know what to do with myself…
Didn’t work on Normal either.
I ran up to Spine on my DK (had to post with this as I can’t post again on Gram). Created a group and invited my Rogue. I entered DS and got “7/8 Bosses”. I waitied for Leader, kicked my DK and then Killed Deathwing. Went back to DS on my DK and it now says “8/8 Bosses”.

OK, DS isn’t there, so that expains that. At least Ulduar is as I don’t have mimiron’s head yet and that raid is quite long (even skipping a bunch). Firelands too.
My bad in that case, no idea why DS wouldn’t be suppored with this type of farming

Dragon Soul isn’t the worst raid to run, a little annoying but far from the worst. SoO is off my list (Ihave a full mog set from there and can live without its mount).
