Maybe this idea is already proposed a couple of times,
Why don’t they make interrupts do damage so people more often use them, I see a lot of people who don’t even know how to interrupt because in low level it isn’t really necessary, if you give a interrupt damage so people actually want to use it, not to much that it’ll be overpowered, still a medium high CD so it won’t be over used.
It would actually stimulate low levels and beginners to use interrupts more often so they can get used to them when it gets relevant at end game content.
While I agree with people interrupting more is a good thing, that’s not a good way to do it, at least with interrupts in their current form. All that it would mean is interrupts are just macro’d into the rest of your abilities because they’re off the gcd, so it’s just free damage.
Maybe something like a successful interrupt buffs you or something.
That might be a better idea but then again, Demon Hunters already get a dps increase from interrupting (and using offensive dispel) and so often they don’t use either. And then you’d run into the problem where people will interrupt irrelevant casts just to get the buff.
People who don’t understand why they should interrupt are not people who actually reads tooltips and try to get a good understanding of the game. The best case scenario is that they read a dps rotation guide and stick to that.
The interrupt being baked into standard rotation wouldn’t help as it needs to go off when the boss is casting regardless of where you are in your rotation.
No, the fact that you don’t get damaged should be enough incentive to interrupt. Especially since it’s off the GCD anyway. It’s called playing the game well. Otherwise we might as well give you a damage bonus for avoiding attacks, healing, CC and whatnot. It’s just silly.
