People enjoy their court jester.
You obviously fail to understand sarcasm. Touch some grass.
If you don’t know your own product, you are already failing at your job. Goes for literally every job in life.
Overall a good player will understand the issues more than a bad player. A bad player might simple not understanding his class, the content, whatever it might be and thinks it’s a design issue. A recent example is a guy complaining about SP in PvP saying how it’s flawed, while it’s literally S tier. This is a simple lack of knowledge, experience and failing to understand the spec.
A designer create the game using scientific tools, a player (no matter the skill) has no idea what this tools are.
If they truly use science to design the game, seeing how the past 3 expansions turned out, I’d never take a shot of their vaccine if they were to mane one.
You need to reread the meaning of sarcasm. Touch some dictionary.
You are mocking the requirement while agreeing with it? The irony.
Knowing your product and being an expert+ on some parts of it are not the same. You dont have to have children to design a baby formula or a toy… you consult expert through the development and testing phase.
Do you know the difference between a designer and a programmer? You always have the visionary and the implementer. Game designer and game developer are totally different. One has the idea and designs the idea, the other one tries its best to implement the idea as good as possible.
Now, guess who is the one doing the numbers and the balancing.
Here a hint:
Designer: “I want a flying mechanic that feels like flying”
Dev: “Ok… is that all?”
Des: “Oh and we want a talent system in it with a ressource to manage”
Dev:“well… lets see wh…”
Des:“Oh and there should be abilities during flyng to change your altitude and speed, while at a certain speed you should regain the ressources”
Dev:“Ho… how fast…should it be? And when starts the regain”
Des: “very fast! like 3 times or so! And the regain somewhere there! Oh and with profession it should somehow be able to farm while not dismounting. But only if you got a perk or something. Oh and I want races with it and courses and timers! Why are you crying?”
But the player still knows nothing about design and how to implement ideas in a code while balancing it. Only because you eat a yogurt you dont know how the chemical formula has to be handled.
You can only tell “should be sweeter”. But when I tell you “Well here is the machine, start mixing the chemicals to make it sweeter” you will do nada.
Not every wine taster knows how to make good wine.
And now imagine people with the right score but exactly this lack, doing the decission. Their lack of knowledgeand experience over design and balancing procedures would harm the game more than help. There are many examples where studios listen to everything the playerbases wanted, and the game went dead.
Yet here we are, every addon and patch, people crying how blizz never listen and worst design since 1050 b.c. … but the game is still nearly 20 years old alive and kicking
Simply creating new raids and dungeons isn’t “new content”, otherwise wow wouldn’t be losing popularity over time.
Is it new content.
But as the title say, it’s not new features.
The new features and mandatory chores added in the past few expansions are why players massively quit the game.
It is more of the same content. The first dev who came up with the idea of raids, dungeons, M+ etc. was probably laughed at by certain people who thought MMOs should stick to questing and roleplay.
Game design is always hit and miss. There’s no recipe for success and the level of creativity needed to move forward is extremely hard to come by.
Releasing new clones of the same thing is called milking a franchise.
Besides what if you dont like dungeons or battlegrounds?
Adding new ones is going to do literally nothing to improve your gaming experience!
I love that they are trying new features all the time…I think their problem in the past though has been to ditch every feature with new expansions. The sensible approach would be to build on features that were well received and upgrade them every expansion.
This way you are constantly adding varied, popular content to the game and as its built on already used systems its less work for developers. Although I think they are coming around to this way of thinking abit more, I feel like Dragon Riding will be carried forward at least.
And you base this statement on which non existent numbers? Did you use a crystal ball, some chicken bones, the stars or tea leafs?
Or did a friend tell you that, that saw it on a post, who based it on a stream who heard it from a virgin which was kissed by an eldritch horror who is the messenger of a god that is the aunt of the sister of the father of the friend?
I know a few who like islands and absolutely hated Torghast. Because all torghast was good for, was a bloody ‘legendairy’
Yet you are still subbed, so their science works
I said “the past expansions”.
You may have noticed that we are not, in fact, in the past.
I didn’t play a single BFA season.
I tried the start of SL season 1 then I quit, and I came back near the end of SL season 4 with the announcement of Dragonflight.
Where you still subbed? If they answer is yes, guess what?
Why would I stay subbed if I’m skipping an entire expansion?
You where crying on this very forums 3 years ago, so……………
As stated above, I return a bit before a new expansions launches, and I tried SL season 1.
I am absolutely aware of what sarcasm is. You obviously are not.
Ok, I see, a slow one. Let’s go slow then.
Obviously having 2,1k in PvP or 2k+ in PvE won’t make you a really good player and guarantee (<- careful, keyword) you the knowledge in order to understand all the flaws in the design. Yet generally speaking, a 2,1k player will obviously still see more flaws than some 1k hardstuck since this one didn’t even comprehend basics, so he can’t even distinguish between his lack of skill and a flaw.
Who said it is? Yet, when you don’t know anything about your product, you won’t be able to improve it. You mix up and confuse 2 different things.
And you not understanding a language, doesn’t mean you can translate the text. See how it goes? You compare apples to bananas.
And why do you throw in apples when we talk about bananas? You do notice you are the one trying to twist what I never said, ye? I am fully aware of what a programmer and a designed does. It literally doesn’t change what I am talking about.
He does need to know it? If I see poop, I know it’s poop, I don’t need to describe it on the molecular level.
How can you fail so hard to understand what I am saying? I’ll try to type as simple as possible next time, sorry.
Uhm? Can you make a proper sentence? What is “this lack”? And where exactly is the counter argument? How did you just disprove people with a specific score having more knowledge and experience that people with zero?
Because you obviously don’t make changes 1:1… ? Which brings us back to: YOU NEED TO KNOW YOUR OWN PRODUCT
You can’t just listen to someone and make whatever he tells you, just because you are too lazy to know your own product. That’s plain stupid.
Exactly and you know what these people have in common? Low scores and ratings.
(To make it super clear to not confuse you again: I speak generally and about the majority, not the exceptions)
It’s hilarious to see two Dracthyrs with the least inspired names I’ve ever seen, which are basically identical, throwing fists at each other.
Then why your lock is in full notorious that is BfA season 3??
