I refuse to believe that all of the jokes and flirts being removed are all as bad as the achievements about men’s junk innuendos which even then is just people choosing to assume the achievements are innuendos when back in the Times of those being new content the achievement had more than enough relevance be it rarity or back pack size during that era of wow
I hope they let QA or atleast get a second or maybe even handful of opinions on what stays and goes cause alot of it can very likely stay or is atleast pg enough to stay without question.
We didn’t really need another post on this, there are 5-6 already.
From my point of view. Does it feel a bit silly? Yes. However some one leaving the game or refusing to play because it has been removed feels even more daft to me. It really isn’t a big deal.
With all this censoring going around mate, its pretty likely they will take no opinions or even consider them… simply sad.
While its totally true that some of these lines are flat, or dull (like the Goblin zip) which could even make them un-interesting really, there are others that are actually totally harmless, especially when its in the name that its actually a joke.
If we put real world metrics on Azeroth, we should probably start with faction wars and establish a United nations mechanism.
A game that has a daily activity of “Go murder 20 people” censoring all this is just pointless.
Can’t wait when they ban males irl because their is too suggestive. I mean not blizzard but the world, it’s worldwide agenda that is going for a while now. It’s how they perform population control - by making everybody asexual plants that won’t even think of stuff, never.
Aight, I’m off to do some manspreading somewhere (while its still allowed).
The State of California are going to have egg on their faces when Blizzard reveal that they have removed a joke about a Draenei losing his family jewels, thereby completely negating decades worth of institutionalised sexual assault and harassment.
Thing is people cold coup with some NPC and painting rehaul and renaming.
But this time they cutting our characters so it feels much more personal even if you never used those emotes and voicelines you knew that you could you had the freedom of choice and now you have less of it.
Its ok, and ur point of it not being THAT much of a deal is true. The real issue however I believe is taking a way the personalisation and also, this is really just directing away from the real life issue at stake at Blizz here.
Like hey , we are being under investigation cause we harrased people at real life work, so we’ll make the in-game world less racist/sexist etc. like? why?
So thats the thing really, its off-point, and I’ll be damned if my male Belf joke ever offended anyone lol
The company IS, the people working there now on the shop floor are not (so I believe). Maybe they are doing this for themselves. It is their baby, many have worked on it for years and years and feel a connection to it as much as the players do.
Consider this on the human level, they are doing it because they feel they need to
Totally respect that, but if the playerbase doesnt perceive it as offensive, arent they simply ruining the game for us in this case? Cause it may be their baby, but we’re their consumers paying so… They should take an opinion at least.
or just filter some of them, instead of removing them.
Sexual innuendos are after all, just innuendos. Its about how you perceive them, thats why much of the community hadnt even noticed many of the stuff that are now being removed.
