Classic WoW was the first example of recycling old content, and I think someone at Blizzard had the crazy idea to start doing the same thing in retail wow. But you shouldn’t, it’s not the same as how Classic works.
Classic launched in 2019. At that time, we already had Shadowlands, and Dragonflight was probably already almost completed. At the end of Dragonflight, we got the second wave of recycled content, the MoP Remix. After that, we were bombarded with recycled content so often that The War Within has become one of the worst expansions so far.
This is not what players want, and honestly, I believe no Blizzard developer would’ve come up with such a bad idea if not for the influence of the “Classic boomers.” So yes, I partly blame them for the fact that we’re ending this expansion with Legion Remix, Shadowlands Timewalking, and Brawler’s Guild. Even the rewards from these events are recycled, most of them are just recolors of things that already exist in WoW.
It’s sad that Blizzard doesn’t really have any serious competition. We’re like frogs being slowly boiled alive in their cauldron. I don’t want this game to end with “Torghast Revisited” in The Last Titan, mark my words, Blizzard fanboys.
I know I’ll be understood only by a minority, and that’s what makes it even sadder. Sunday players and normies just don’t get my point. If we all united and said no to this joke Blizzard is pulling on us, they would be forced to admit their mistakes, just like they did after Shadowlands.
But no, we’re divided like a cake. Some people are happy that old TCG items that came to the Trading Post and laugh at those who paid real money for them years ago. Players are split, 50% defend FOMO, and 50% are against it. At this point, Blizzard will keep lowering our expectations with every new patch.
