Stop seeing the vault as a goal

Never will your vault go down with anything you do.

You don’t need keys for the Vault slots from Delves to count. You just have to complete any Delve, they don’t even have to be Bountiful.

I know they don’t have to be but I’d prefer to do Bountiful to get the better rewards when, to me, the difficulty doesn’t seem any different.

Yes, I worded that badly … what I actually meant was I have to do extra delves to cancel out the world events bringing it down … eg my final slot tells me I need to do a delve of L2 or more to increase the reward level which, to me, looks like it’s the world events dragging it down.

Without the world events you didn’t have that 3rd slot open at all. You can only upgrade vault slots. They can never go down

Sorry, it’s early and my brain hasn’t woken up yet. I know they can’t go down. It’s just having to do extra delves to bring it up to the level of the other 2 slots that’s annoying

Never been a fan of the vault ending up as the source for 99% of gear progression.

Game always feels better when various activities could give upgrades imo.

To make it less like a goal, they need to stop building the entire content around it. It feels like they intentionally cripple the loot from M+ (among others) just to steer you into filling the GV with plentiful of runs.

Back to just a “eh, cool, nice addition” instead of “if I do x runs of y, then I will get 9 choices of z ilvl, and I can sim the results of all of them to see what’s best because lord knows what’s going on with all the special effects anymore. Also, gotta keep in mind the catalyst charges, gear-tracks, upgrade levels, etc.”

They intentionally cripple the loot from M+ so it’s not easier/faster to farm Mythic Track gear from M+ than you can get it from Mythic Raiding.

That plus they want to slow down gear progression as a whole because they noticed that the “average wow player” (according to their internal statistics) stops playing once his character is fully geared. Thus they decided to slow down progression - to keep players playing for longer.

This doesn’t apply if you are looking to get the best possible gear for your character and don’t mythic raid as it is the only source of mythic track gear and otherwise, you’ll just be stuck at 626.

That said, I don’t see it as something that’s difficult to fill personally, 8 dungeons a week is like 3 hours across the entire week.

As I am only interested in mythic track gear, that’s all I have to do.

Twist it however you’d like to fit your narrative, but the point stays the same:
One GUARANTEED loot. per. week.

Why play at all then. If all you play for is 1 moment in the week you feel any joy (not guaranteed) why play at all…just go gamble?

It’s that or wait a month for it

The word entitled… its beside M+ in the dictionary lol…

Not sure what you mean by that tbh.

Well stop bad game design

It’s the only way to truly gear up to do harder content.

I’ve been banging this drum for a wee while now. We need to stop seeing gear as the be-all and end-all of rewards for absolutely everything.
If the gear is too good then the content is a forced chore.
If the gear is not good then the content is worthless and why would anyone do it?

People complain here (I’ve seen threads recently) that raiding is forced content now as gear from Delves is too low and gear from M+ is too sparse.

I don’t know how (or if we can) to change this mentality.
The idea of the Vault is to try to separate the gear reward from the content slightly. But I’m not sure it’s worked.
Perhaps the Vault need to be more like the Trading Post where you fill it up over a few weeks and then you can buy some items with some currency. Not sure this is any better.

The vault is my main source of Mythic gear so I absolutely see it as a goal. The only row I really have to fill at this stage is my M+ one.

You can disagree, we have our own opinions but nearly everything we do in life boils down to getting a reward in one way or another.

Even at its simplest form, take a character from creation to max level gives you a reward. Each level gives you a reward. You can also enjoy it and it may not make sense to others to get a character to max, delete it and start again but if you enjoy it then go for it. But regardless, you are still rewarded by the basic feeling of achieving your goal.
