I’m sorry but the tank leaving thing is probably an issue with your groups, I have leveled 13 characters through ToF, doing it this way and barely had any issue, its just faster and more efficient, you can deny it if you want, I’m just telling you what it is.
Also the quest doesnt matter if you’re talking about the “help the court” and others, they take way too long and you can barely finish one before being 60
Yes. So many asspulls. People die. Tries to come back. Dies again. Waiting for forever. Tank is done with it, since he has as only one an instant queue. And then we wait for 10 minutes. It is so damn bad.
And yes. You dont fill bars when you keep skipping bosses.
When the dungeon starts, just ask are we skipping or killing? Then go with the majority. It’s really not worth being removed from a group because you wanted something different from the rest.
I am not going to say anothing about the majority, since i don’t play with them. It is only anecdotal evidence. Like all the time my groups tried to skip only resulted in waiting for other people, or people trying to get back. Only waisting tons of time. But i can hardly say i have done PF 100 times on normal. Personal experiences.
Yeah in LFD this should be a thing. Everything should be at the end of dungeon. No loot, no achievements, no memory, no quest completion untill all the bosses down.
A majority of groups just do what they’ve heard is pro (much like meta) you had Furyeclipser in these very forums when levelling two tanks and with them he calculated time taken to gain levels via dungeon spam with one skipping and one not skipping and his non skip tank was higher level within the same time window.
So unless Fury was doing something very gimmicky, it appears that the exp/hour if skipping isn’t actually worth it if exp/hour is what you’re after, and that’s as a tank. As a DPS the difference is even greater as DPS get more benefit from in dungeon exp than end of dungeon exp due to queue times.
So I’m this case I’d suggest that most players are skipping either because they’ve heard it’s best somewhere, or they can’t be bothered to do the bosses, but not because they’ve calculated it’s better, because as Fury did, the numbers don’t support it. The exp you lose from the bosses and trash is worth more than the time you save assuming your group isn’t filled with slowcoaches (as assumption you need satisfied for skipping to be efficient as well)
Yeah, the majority does not know that the 2 minutes won are not getting turned into more XP. You need to do a lot of PF’s with skips to be able to queue for 1 more dungeon than you originally was going for. So if you do 5 dungeons in 1 hour, or 5 dungeons in 1 hour and 5 minutes. The 5 minutes faster is not getting used, so it is effectively an XP loss.
Probably the best solution indeed. Till now i do not get further with the regular "Hi, good evening ". And then just follow the tank.
I am currently leveling a couple of low level characters and I hate Freehold as hell.
I always know we are going to try to skip it and I always mess most the times or someone else.
One inch, one patrol and you are toasted.
I was fortunate enough to get the same group many times and in every run Freehold run, I always messed up the part where you have to jump from the roof to the bridge that leads to the last boss. When it wasn’t me it was someone else.
Whenever I start doing Dungeons at level 10, I get King’s Rest, (which btw is my favourite) than after a couple of levels comes … Freehold.
Last time got kicked from Freehold because I kept following the Forsaken Tank that was just following the normal route.
Unfortunately the 3 man premade kept letting both of us die at the end of the 1st bridge, because they wanted to skip, the second boss(es).
I only noticed they were a premade, when they didn’t do nothing, let both of us die and the Tank asked:
“Why aren’t you healing ?”
I whispered him:
“They are premade, they are probably trying to skip.”
He whispered back:
“Ah !”
“They tried to vote kick you, I don’t know why, but i voted no.”
My character was a DK Tauren named Blackhide. Did they considered it offensive, perhaps ?
Or it was because I kept following the Tank instead of them 3 ?
I mean I don’t read minds.
They could had told both of us that they were planning on skip the bosses, right at the start.
I either pull the boss, or vote to kick the tank. The majority of dps actually want to do all bosses, so vote always passes. I pulled the 1st boss and tank said “if you want to do all the bosses you can find a new tank” so we kicked him and got a new tank that asked if we wanted to do all or skip. Which is what these obnoxious tanks that think they’re gods gift should ask.
Now i need to know i just started a new char and i am only able to queue for 1 dungeon, atal dazar The char is now lvl 15, and still only atal. How do you get to queue for Kings rest?
For me as a tank, it’s a bit random. The first FH yesterday, I didn’t feel like skipping it, because it was my first FH since BFA and I wanted to catch the pig.
The following handful of FHs, I skipped because XP-wise the boss kills are not worth it.
I rarely get kicked. Nobody wants to wait another 15 min for a tank.
