1.to get starting gear for pvp we must spend pretty much honor
2.to get sockets in gear we must buy a vicious bloodstone which costs 2500 honor
3.then with bloodstone we must spend 5000 more honor to buy a socket itself
4.recipes for professions costs 7500 honor

what the hell??? In DF recipes were dropping randomly from pvp crates and it was OK, the drop chance was enough for any active player. Now pvp crates dropping useless garbage that i don’t even bother opening them…instead you force us to farm tonnes of honor just to keep a carrot over our noses.

Iam 2750 rated blitz player with 2900 mmr and only few weeks ago i finally bought the last socket for my gear and still didn’t buy any of the recipes. Pls diversify the sources needed things in pvp, make it that some drop from crates, some are bought for honor etc. Because binding everything to honor is pretty too much

I’m not a fan of needing honor to obtain gear as there is period of time where you are just useless in any PvP content, so hope other carry you until you can start to get some. It is such an uninspiring concept.

Glorious Contender’s Strongbox does have a chance (low as it is) of dropping profession recipies

I get smashed by the bots even.
Lvl 603 is low I get it but I can’t put a dent in anyone in pvp

This is one of the reason i am not touching pvp this expansion . The initial cost to even get in pvp is way too high and it is not like the pvp scene is active 24 hours a day .you get most matches in peak time and on weekends .otherwise its too quiet.
This is first expansion i have been pushing really hard in pve instead of pvp

A tip for future alts or any low levels playing, use war mode and get the chests and do the sparks quest while you level. I’ve done that with a handful of bgs while levelling all my alts and they’ve had full green pvp set at max

You should never care about PvP.

Some of the recipes are sold for less than 1K gold in the AH, most of them are less than 5K gold, there are very few that are more than 5K. Farming 5K gold is a lot easier and faster than farming 7.5K honor, so there is a solution for you.

well as a guy who played blitz every day and reached allmost 2800 while playing 2900 mmr i received ZeRo recipes from these useless boxes even though i opened hundreds of them. The drop chance is probably lower than we think

I have had recipes drop both from the winning bg boxes and the wm on zone event chests. The drop rate is not great but they do drop.

Oh yeah they drop, but they are for all professions!

Gotta love dropping 2 leatherworking recipes when you don’t play leather classes in Pvp!

I agree, the farm for conquest is extremely easy, the catch-up gear is fast without being a hassle thanks to the blood token. But still I need to wait to get my tier set as I do Pve and Pvp, and on top of that if I want precog with my alt, I need to farm quite a bit.

Feels like, they tried some things that worked but went back to some outdated idea for others.
