Stop trying to make threat a thing

Nobody likes it, nobody wants it.

Not even most tanks i talk to enjoy it as a mechanic, it’s just trash.

Mobs should just fixate on whoever hits them first. Problem solved.

Just significantly increase tank threat generation.

To around legion levels.

If they don’t want people to pull and kite just add some form of threat decay when you don’t attack for a while.

But this bs where you do your rotation and you manage to rip threat off the tank should NOT happen.

It’s not fun, it doesn’t do anything for gameplay. Just an annoyance.

Then players will scream at the tank and make the place even more toxic.

Which tank class is having threat issue’s though ? druid/pala/dk/dh ive played all seem in a really good spot can not speak for monk or warrior.

Nah, fam. Let us DPS players have a little self control.

Threat is fun as it shows who can be a team player and calm down when their threat goes too high, and who’s the DPS meter junkie wanting to top it at all costs.

Im not sure but threat generation was increased even further for tanks after bfa

without threat mobs would attack random people and it’s like 500% more threat generation for tank atm.
anyway it’s not any problem, some players seem to look for problem literally in everything, you literally have to hit mob once as tank to take aggro over
what about some practice instead of crying on forums ?

It wasn’t, it was significantly reduced after legion.

They they buffed it a bit, but not enough.

And yea, threat is a problem, you just don’t know what you are talking about.

I think YOU don’t even know what you are talking about because I literally never seen anyone complaining about threat, seems like a skill issue

Do enlighten me, what is so bad about us DPS players having to be in control of our DPS?

I mean, sure, when I do keys with a full friend group it’s sometimes fun to pop all CDs and blast all the threat away from the tank only to instantly die, then sit on discord having a laugh & a bit of banter about what a bad tank we have.

But yeah, the ONLY times threat is an issue if I as a DPS player don’t watch my threat and go all out all the time.

In conclusion: Learn to relax your DPS.

if dps has to stop dps in first place to not take aggro it automatically means tank is terrible, terrible to the level he doesnt even use aoe skills, I really didn’t see that happen even with lowest key pugs

as 410 ilvl druid i join grps with 440 ilvls and I dont have ANY problems with keeping aggro, I main tanks since sl, treat was never problem. also I think he talks from tank’s perspective, not as dd

some people just need to spend time on actual game to practice and learn things instead on wasting time and tears on pointless forum threads

Quite true, and it happens sometimes. We are humans after all, no one is perfect, and tanks can forget to do AoE to generate threat on all mobs it happens on occasion, still quite rare for tanks to forget that, but it happens.

But what class though tell us ?

Threat is going to be a thing in any game that has tanking as a concept, remove threat, and you remove tanking.

While some people might say this is also a good idea, tanking is a playstyle that appeals to some more than DPS or healing

That’s not the point.

When i say stop trying to make threat a thing i mean they should significantly increase threat generation.

The real job of a tank is to take damage in place of other party members.

When you pull as a tank, everything should be attacking you, and only you as soon as you pull, and this doesn’t happen, especially in big pulls even with good tanks, or if you have a dps with particularly high st burst damage they can also rip threat from the tank and get killed.

This is NOT good design.

Tank should have threat on everything as soon as they attack, and if they don’t want tanks to pull and kite they can add some form of threat decay if you don’t attack for a while, so you can kite, but not forever.

People were talking about “show me the class” YOU ARE MISSING THE POINT.
