Someone please, for the love of god, explain to me the logic of those players who undercut others not by 1 silver, not by 1 gold, but they are slicing the price in HALF. And it happens a lot, like every minute.
The new AH literally sets the best price for you, so you can get the most value for your goods. Looking at this player behaviour on the AH, I’m no longer surprised by the abysmal quality of players I encounter during my M+ runs.
I’ll undercut as far as I want to and whenever I want to.
Most value? Often I dont care. AH is trash bin for items that I think will sell or may sell. Its a place where I go to rid myself of items that can be worth something to someone, but I dont personally care.
What concerns me the most is that the item sells and I don’t have to come back to relist it. If it means I undercut hard, then thats it.
Vendoring is too low price. If the AH price is too close to vendor price, I will indeed vendor the said items. Its not worth the time to list it in the AH trash bin.
This has very little to do with undercutting, though. 50% of 100g is still 50g. If said item goes to vendor for… 10silver? Its still worth the effort to discard my items into AH instead of vendor. Now if the item sells in AH for 1g and vendor is 10silver. Its not worth my time to AH it.
edit: And indeed, forgot to say as the next post says. If my low priced items offend you, buy them and relist them at higher price. I get rid of my trash and you get gold. Everyone wins.
Nowadays I don’t sell anything but I used to do that in order to sell something quickly, knowing that the worst case scenario would be an auction house goblin would buy it in order to relist it with higher price.
Some people don’t care about ah inflation and devaluation, only auction goblins do.
People that undercut don’t even know that they de-value their own game time. You can’t teach them, because they don’t understand the basic stuff of a limited resource like time.
No one in RL would take a -40% pay check just to be done with it. In WoW you play 2 hours a day and could have made 4000g? Just throw it into the auction house for the worth of 200g and wonder why it sells fast.
For a second I thought you were going to write about the undercutting issue on AH, and then you focus on a non-issue.
It is those 1 silver undercutters who lists with a bid at 80% of buyout value who are cancerous.
If people really lists items at 50% the price of yours, and they do not immediately sell out, you have two options: Buy out their listings and relist them with your price if you are confident in your price level. Or reconsider your price level for future listings.
Yeah… I’m one of those who undercut by a very large margin, usually something like 50%. And no, I would not settle for 40% paycheck, but then again I don’t do wow as my work. If you do, tough luck, perhaps you should try finding some other job and play wow on your free time.
Just a thought, you do what you like and I continue undercutting.
You don’t have to, you still participate in the games economy. You pay for potions, flasks, enchants, recipes, etc.
There is not a single reason to throw the stuff you produce or farm away. You can do it of course, it’s just stupid to do it.
