Either make them available or don’t add them in the first place. There are far too many items in the game, which aren’t available to player characters for absolutely no reason at all. As someone playing on a roleplaying server it’s pretty annoying when you have to substitute items or search for an alternative because the real ones are not available.
Some examples:
The helmet for the Orgrimmar Grunt set is worn by nearly every single grunt in BfA, yet for players it’s not available even though the helmet has been in the game since WoD.
Fully upgraded Alliance soldiers in the Arathi warfront carry a unique, white Lion-shield ( https://i.imgur.com/yyz0WLL.jpg ), which for some reason is not a reward for the warfront.
Speaking about the soldiers: They also use a long-version of the “Stormwind cloak”. The cloaks are only available in a medium-length variant…again for no reason at all.
Again: Grunts in the Warfront also use a “unique”-axe, which is in fact Durotans axe from WoD with a Frostwolf-symbol on the blade.
Alliance soldiers stationed around Stormwind and during the Battle of Lordaeron wear a “blue”-tint of the Warfront-armor. Only the T1-version was available for players during the first PvP-season, yet the soldiers carry T3 helmets and shoulders which aren’t available.
The Lightforged use a “Light”-shield, which ALL paladins were able to get by using the Seraphim-talent, so the model itself is already capable of being properly sized for different races. Currently, the tauren paladin from the island expeditions is using said shield.
The Dark Ranger outfit is not available either. This would have been an interesting reward if you stayed a Sylvanas loyalist all the way to the end.
Several Kul Tiran NPCs wear a unique belt with fisher hooks, small bags and other utensils on it. For some stupid reason this belt is not available, even thoug it’s essentially only a basic belt with 3D-objects…aka like every single belt since WoD.
I totally agree on this. I still can’t believe they said NO to Night Elf Sentinel armor, but allowed people to run in Yeti transmog wearing fish maces.
Oh, yeah I totally forgot about that armor. The worst part about it is the fact that the sentinels during the “Orgrimmar Siege 2: Electric Boogaloo”-quest also wear this armor. Make it night elf exclusive for all I care but give it to the players. It’s too low texture? Who cares I see people running around with T3…I can count the pixel on that armor.
I think blood trolls are a bit more difficult, because their “armor” is probably part of their model. But, that’s not really an excuse either.
But, speaking about it: Emotes. The NPCs in BfA are completely flexing on us with their unique emotes. Soldiers stand guard with their weapons drawn, rogues play around with their daggers while looking around and every second Kul Tiran is leaning against something…oh and walks around drunken.
I don’t understand Blizzard’s current prudish stance when it comes to player looks.
I understand offering a choice to players, so they can cover up or not, as they see fit, even giving us the ability to hide everything but pants. Personally I think pants should also be able to be hidden but that’s neither here nor there.
I remember when they censored Sylvana’s belly button.
“We’ve heard our female employees,” he said. “And my daughter tools me out about it. She saw a World of Warcraft cinematic of the Dragon Aspects, and my daughter was like, ‘Why are they all in swimsuits?’ And I was like, ‘I don’t know. I don’t know anymore.’” - Chris Metzen
There you go.
We don’t want his daughter to ask him why WoW player avatars walk on swimsuits, do we ?

This is a bs reasoning, a literal “it’s for the children”.
Real reason is excessive pc culture in California and the prevalence of men with low testosterone in executive positions, giving into the whims of deranged feminazis.
There is difference to create armor for npc with set model and creating armor for all races. You pick npc you create armor for it and copy pasterino for all grunt models.for example. You cant do that with player characters. Each race and model need need some sort of tweaks for armor befor you can implement it. It takes way way more work to make it viable as player armor.
Is this the reason why we only had the human/Orc model from Garrisons and we didn’t got the Dwarf, Night Elf, Darkspear, Tauren city guard sets during WoD ?
Also, isn’t a lot more easier to make one set of armor that fits only one determined race like: Blood Elf, Dwarf, Gnome, Tauren heritage set ?
I mean it would had been far more interesting unlocking that armor and try the pieces in other races.
Noalbady says it cant be done. It just takes manpower and resources which clearly blizz do not have or decided to use them somewhere els. They have priority list and there was obviously some things above making more cosmetics.
I’d really love an updated version of Ravencrest’s Legacy/Maladath, Runed Blade of the Black Flight. Kur’thalos Ravencrest used the updated version back in Legion but it was not made available for players. How long I looked around on the web if it was obtainable back when I first saw it, only to be disappointed. Lol.
Oh, I remember that armor set when it was first datamined. Many presumed that it would be something like a Mythic-only drop from the endboss of Black Rook Hold…turns out it was for NPCs only.
A damn shame that coats were never made for players especially since they could finally add a new style for chest-pieces. No matter how many 3D-objects Blizzard adds, in the end we have two styles for breastplates: A tunic or a robe…FOR 15 YEARS!

The Blood Knight armor in the Arathi Warfront is something that I’m hacked off about.[/quote]
Still weird that the blood knights use a black and red variant more fitting to the overall blood knight and Horde theme (since many Horde tabards are also black and red) while the players got an orange-tint.
Which they should have considering that they no longer create Tier-sets for all classes.
