It’s for Halloween. Probably the only thing about that pagan holyday that wasn’t deemed offensive in the US. This year.
Where I live the flying broom is associated with another holiday, coming on 6 January (Befana) - it’s actually more from Italy but media and geographical/cultural proximity made it popular in southern Switzerland as well.
thats what happens to holidays when american companies get their hand on them. The same way they created santa to be a thing during christmas from another holiday in the beginning of december.
Santa and his wife lives in Finland in Rovaniemi, theres even a village named santa village

Well i guess santa also is a mix of different holidays then i was actually referring more to sinterklaas wich is celebrated mostly in the netherlands and belgium.
That certainly explains the reindeer and him living in a icy cold area

It’s a completely different holyday tho, halloween in the US is the same date as the european one, so they got that right. But yeah it’s commercialised af like most holydays, the only positive thing for me is, there are lots of horrormovies releasing around that time

Well i do love horromovies atleast, but at the same time it feels so weird that with all the american movies and the internet halloween actually starts becoming a thing here. When i was a kid it was just a thing from american movies. But now theres actually kids trick or treating

I agree with you, but on the other hand; the subscription fee hasn’t increased in 15 years or so. Not even to account for inflation.
