Storm dust is way too rare, which itself is a consequence of green (uncommon) quality items being so rare at max level. You can get loads of blues and even epics much much much easier than obtaining greens. A big reason for this is the lack of ability to craft green quality items for a cheap cost. This seems counterintuative, especially given just how much storm dust is required for all enchants (the best requiring a staggering 75). Why is the item that is required in the largest quanities so damn rare? This needs to be adressed going into raid opening next week. I advise all those affected to comment and/or make you own post for engagement, to increase the likelihood of a response.
Even the spec is a bad joke.
I have 60 points in Dedicated Disenchanter and still get 1-2 Storm Dust with a max lvl green item.
Give me my knowledge points back Blizzard.
I don’t understand why we don’t have a shatter skill like in Dragonflight.
“Crystalline Shatter” you could turn 1 greater reagent into 3 lessers: so 1 purple to 3 blues or 1 blue to 3 greens.
For some reason, this no longer exists in TWW. Coupled with the fact green gear seems to be as special as epics, this makes dust prices just silly at 100g+ gold a piece.
Very much agreed. And to top it it’s not just enchanting which uses loads - tailoring also feels like it uses more enchanting dusts than it has in the last few expansions.
Agreed.
They could have made it a reward for leveling Disenchanter specialization and put it on a cooldown or charge system similar to Duskweave / Dawnweave production.
Made my old main an ench to funnel greens into, maxed out the 30/30 DE and then 30/30 on green DE, occasionally still get 1 r1 dust. Feel like after 60 KP you’d get mostly r3 and in slightly larger quantities. Not like everyone will do it as they’ll want to focus on enchanting properly
good news
"We’re working on a hotfix to address this.
The hotfix will add a new Shatter recipe to Enchanting, and the new recipe will let you shatter blue crystals and receive dust.
We expect this to become available in-game in the next couple of days"
Looks like we’re getting exactly this
How will this affect prices?
And they fix it… now? They should fix this before the launch. Blizzard is stupid as usual
Dust is already getting cheaper, shards skyrocketed from 6g to 120g
The weekly requires 50 shards…
