Hello fellow elemental shamans

We seem to be doing pretty well for BoD. But dmg output aside do you enjoy playing the storm elemental build?

Personally I really dislike it. Shaman shouldn’t be a pet class but now it seems we’re one of the classes that has most of our dmg based on a pet? Also outside of the Storm elemental where we spam lightning bolt for days is not very engaging.

Earth elemental (or stoneclaw totem) is one of the main reasons I started a shaman back in the day but Fire elemental and now Storm elemental are just boring, clunky and a lazy way to balance the class I think.

What do you think? Do you enjoy it?

No, my storm elemental never worked as intended, so I chosed another talent from the talent tree, and got my broken fire elemental back :expressionless:

The only elemental I truly enjoy is my earth, I only send the fire out when my earth elemental still has a lot of cooldown left.

But it’s not like I feel I can’t play without the elementals, I mostly send them out when I have managed to anger too many mobs, attack an elite or and enemy player.

I wouldn’t play my shaman if it weren’t for the focus put into the elementals in that spec to be honest.

I just started playing my shaman again and so far I like ele. I don’t mind storm elemental but I wish the “go to” build wouldn’t contain totem mastery and primal elementalist. I would prefer if aftershock and icefury were better (maybe they are if done right?) because they simply seem more exciting. I think I’m gonna start running icefury to get a hang of it :smiley:

Wishing there was an option given to make a (maybe weaker) version permanent cause I like pets.

But the actual kind of playstyle is enjoyable cause of the changing rotation during burstphase and the normal rotation.

Permanent pet would be cool, but I guess the game already has enough “pet classes” :slight_smile:

What I do is vary play style. In dungeons I regularly use Ice Fury, but I also like the Storm Elemental build.

Why? Since I love fast gameplay, and this makes me cast faster and faster….looks awesome….and the bonus skill of the 80% better version looks amazing…I wish though, some talents were also an option. What I liked in Legion, was that we had 3 play styles to choose from….now we don’t!

The option was given late to mages so I’d keep the hope :slight_smile:

I’d LOVE to be able to have one of the elementals out permanently even if it means you have to choose between that and primal elementalist. I’m a big fan of pet classes, especially pet classes with a healing spec on the side and I’d likely main shaman if I could have one out as a normal pet.

I hate it…I always played elemetal because it was only option to play “real caster” like fire mage but still have option to play non-dps spec. But know we are just another pet class.

I’m leaning towards playing the surge of power variant of the build because it makes ele shaman feel very dynamic to spend my time between air elementals trying to reduce its cooldown with earthshock+lava burst.
