Stormherald - Warrior PVP

Hi,

I levelled up a Warrior as my main character and chose mining and bs as professions. The reason I decided to go for these professions is that I thought StunHerald was a must for PVP, which is what I intend to do.

However, I saw a reddit comment where someone suggested that mace wasn’t significantly better than the s2 arena one, and that the Vengfull Gladiator one is better.

Now, I have spent tons of money and time in leveling up bs (360/375) and am wondering, was it for nothing? This is particularly bad because I am struggling to make money for the fast flying mount, which I find necessary to mining - my only source of money from professions.

Is it worth doing it at this point?

I am almost fresh 70 and have a lvl 68 axe… should I carry on or should I just rather go for a PVP mace and try to farm arena points and rating? What do you suggest?

Many thanks.

It was all for nothing.

It’s good cause the stun does not DR with talented mace stun but its a low proc chance and ye its slightly better than s2 mace in general and worse compared to s3.

You might not use stunherald in warrior/druid mirrors, but against rogue teams, one RNG stun ends the game. I’ve had warriors charge stun into mace stun into intervene stun into stormherald stun.

It’s not perfect, but it’s overpowered enough that the weapon was never re-added into the game or given a tier 3 upgrade. Do the math.

So. If you were in my position, what would you do then?

Would you still build it?
Or you’d rather go for a PVE or Gladiator weap?
Would you scrap bs (currently 360/375, will take 1.5k gold to upgrade it) and get a profession to make money?

If you’re asking these questions and you’re still 42 you probably haven’t PVP’d in TBC much, if at all.

I’d build the weapon cause unless you buy rating, you wont be getting your weapon any time soon.

EDIT*

I assume you also know the final upgrade requires 8 bind on pickup, raid-drop only items?

I am 70. I don’t know why this is not updated.

I pvp’d a lot in tbc and wotlk. But that was 10 years ago and was main mague.

I don’t know yet how hard is to get past the threshold for buying the weapon. Can you do that with the gladiator weap? I assume no?

You can do it in blues if you’re good enough. But people seem to think that they know all these amazing secrets because they watched videos of private server players and will dominate in arena. Hint: Everyone has seen those…

Everyone in arena is 10x better than they used to be. at 1500 you start meeting people in PVP gear with PVP specs, and because of the way arena teams work now (e.g. you can’t roll a new team and get 1500 rating for free) there isn’t as much rating inflation in the 1500-1800 bracket.

yes stunherald is still op and better than the honor weapon

SH is worth it for sure. It’s a lot better than s2 mace and on par with s3 weapon MAYBE slighty worse. I have been above 2k rating since week 1 and s3 weapon is the last piece i will buy. Also, you can focus on your other pieces if you have Stormherald and not worry about weapon. I would 100% go for it, it’s still amazing.

Completely agree with this comment. I’ve seen a lot of warriors going for Vengeful Set (Shoulders/Helmet) in priority today.

Even the rank 2 mace will provide to you enough damages to push rating.
