you trolling new players or what? Not only these soui fragments not dropping in normal mode and requires to play heroic which is unreal for me, 58 lvl paladin, you also force me to spend to much time queueing dungeons to make a simple story-line quest??? I just want to do story content while lvling why should i even play hard pve modes for it lol . Story/lvling content is needed for new players to lvl up, to reveal and learn the lore and story of the game, to learn basics of how to play…it’s not for frustrating and terrible experience which makes people delete the game xD
I’m not sure if I’m correct but you can perhaps bypass it by leaving chromie time, I’m guessing it all should go to level 45 then…? And then you can easily solo the heroics.
I agree with you tho that it is silly. They should just change things like that to normal dungeons.
I can understand the frustration, the quest line you’re doing was meant to be something you did at cap during the actual expansion, it clearly does not translate well into Chromie time.
I haven’t tested it and it’s behaving a bit differently than a few years back with the scaling so I’m somewhat confused myself with it all haha, sorry, wish I was both more helpful and factual!
But I’m pretty sure when you leave it, and then go back to it, you should pick up where you were. Maybe someone else knows exactly how this works tho, I’m hoping they’ll give some input.
And in addition, you could also level to 60 through other quests in Legion, and then you can leave chromie time anyway for DF. And then after you’ve left chromie time, everything will definitely be level 45. But I’m not sure if it’s simply to level and enjoy that, or being able to finish the questline regardless for you
i just want to continue the story lime up to the end to know lore and how legion ended…iam 60 lvl now btw chromie calls me back. Maybe i shall try going out and then return and see if i can solo heroics and continue the story.
My guess is they are quite a bit harder in leveling gear while in Chromie time, because scaling acts a bit weird, and more importantly, levelers will probably be in normal dungeons, not heroics so I’m not even sure if the queue would pop often or at all. It’s probably an oversight but it would be good if they change these details once expansions become legacy content.
The rule for none Chromie time is that five levels above the area cap will guarantee one shotting most content. EG Old Kingdoms Level 35, WoD at 45 you can solo all Mythic content including raids. So Legion at 45 probably needs Level 50 if you want to do everything on your own with no problems at the hardest level. The difference is you get zero XP and only very very small rep from dungeons. Also you need to set for Trivial Quests or they wont show up. The only oddity is BfA where they haven’t removed the level difference. I thought that you get recalled by Chromie and he removes your time thingy. Sorry I never use Chromie.
No one is forced to do Loremaster anymore…, it isn’t wrath or Vanilla anymore
In Classic Vanilla lvling is so slow, so then we are forced to do the quests for many zones (Maybe everything)
Most of the players don’t care about the lore, they focused M+, raiding and PvP

It’s been 15 years, yet the free trial has not changed any time, they never bothered to let free trial open the mail, AH, and trade. It is still timegated too much that caused new players to hate this game
Don’t worry, it got easier to get around to dungeons to solo them, even at mythic
But now in 2023, Dragonflight is the Hardest expansion because it has too many keybinds, too many spells, It also added the hardest pathfinder too
I wouldnt bother with that quest. It requires you to do Trial of Valor raid which is currently bugged at the end and thus incompleteable. I have just tried myself, the raid has been borked for a while and no workaround.
Regardless of whether you do this quest or not you see the outcome in the Nighthold raid.
Either way you won’t be able to do the raids unless you are 60 and soloing, though 70 makes it easier. So I suggest getting to 60 via the other quests and then turn chromie time off and do solo the LFR raids.
Please note you will NOT be able to go back into chromie time at 60 if you turn it off.
so my position now is like this - i reached 60 lvl, got kicked from time walk but was managed to do 5 heroic dungeons alone, finish the quest and then complete the Trial of valor and reclaim Illidan’s soul.

Khadgar just said something like “i will try champion! But you will need to do the hardest part and assault nighthold”
and…nothing…no new quest, no tips where should i even go, where is this so called nighthold located, which quests leads there…god damn how can story content be so frustrating in this game. Does devs even doing their job or just getting money for nothing
What? How did you do the trial?! I can’t get Helya to go into Phase 3 T_T
The Nighthold quest will pop up after you have done all of the Suramar questline and Insurrection questline, you will get the generic “Go kill the last boss of this raid” with a cutscene showing the fruits of your labour at the end (but that happens regardless).
It is worth noting that originally these quests were all timegated and so it made sense. Of course once they were all out, there was no timegating to be had which is why it might be a bit confusing for people now.
what phase 3 you mean? Iam a 60 lvl and she just moves far in the sea and summons tentacles. At first attempt though when i killed all tentacles nothing happened and she just stood there forever.
So i killed myself by entering the sea and made the second attempt but killed all 9 tentacles slower (with auto attacks, killed adds between tentacles, faced some moving ships). It seems that phases are bugged if you kill all the tentacles too fast and requires us to be slower as it is a real raid where players aren’t oneshotting all tentacles in 10 seconds…i bet there is some kind of timer which we should not bugg
Yeah phase 3 is she comes back to the shore. I tried killing it all slower but no to avail, perhaps if I go with no gear and weapons it might work? Anyway, glad it worked for you. I’ll try again later I guess.

do i get it right, since i have ZERO quests related to legion story line now, i shall start the so called khadgar discovery quest, then complete this suramar arc and at some point before nighthold raid starts i will automatically get the legion story quest for restoring Illidan???
Yes, discovery/magic message is essentially the same quest not sure why it is there twice. You will get the nighthold quest outside the nighthold raid, it will appear at the end of the insurrection questline. (The insurrection questline is basically suramar pt.2)
